ROLE OVERVIEW:

Black Trader is looking for skilled RDBMS Specialists to manage, optimize, and secure our high-throughput transactional and time-series database architecture. In this role, you will work extensively with PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, and ClickHouse to ensure our high-frequency financial data systems process transactions rapidly, maintain strict data integrity, and scale seamlessly under heavy market trade volumes and analytics loads.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Design, deploy, and maintain robust relational and time-series database schemas using PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, and ClickHouse.
- Write, optimize, and fine-tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and analytical views for ultra-fast response times and real-time market data retrieval.
- Manage high-volume time-series data and columnar data storage models for fast analytical processing (OLAP) using ClickHouse.
- Monitor database performance, execute query optimization and indexing strategies, and resolve database lockups or execution bottlenecks.
- Plan and execute database backup, recovery, replication, and failover strategies for 24/7 high availability.
- Ensure strict data security, user access controls, and compliance with institutional data management policies.
- Collaborate with backend software engineering teams to design scalable data models and seamless API integrations.





DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE:

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical field.
- Proven work experience as a Database Administrator (DBA), Database Developer, or RDBMS Engineer.
- Hands-on expertise with PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, and/or ClickHouse (or similar high-performance transactional and time-series engine setups).
- Deep knowledge of relational database concepts, ACID properties, transaction isolation levels, and query execution plan analysis.
- Experience with database clustering, replication, partitioning, and high-availability setups.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing database-level deadlocks, memory usage, and performance degradation under high loads.
- Experience handling real-time financial market data, trade logs, or transactional databases is a strong plus.
