Role Summary:

The Principal Architect leads the design, planning, and execution of architectural projects within civil construction, ensuring projects align with regulatory standards, sustainability principles, client requirements, and company objectives. This role oversees design teams, collaborates with structural, MEP, and project management teams, and drives innovation and design excellence across projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead architectural design from concept to execution for civil construction projects including residential, commercial, and institutional projects.
- Prepare and review design briefs, conceptual drawings, and detailed architectural plans ensuring adherence to codes and standards.
- Collaborate with structural, MEP, and landscape teams to ensure seamless integration across disciplines.
- Conduct site feasibility studies and site inspections to ensure design integrity and address on-site challenges.
- Guide the preparation of presentations, 3D models, and walkthroughs for client approvals and stakeholder meetings.
- Ensure compliance with local bye-laws, building codes, NBC, and statutory approvals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to architects and design teams, reviewing work for quality and compliance.
- Optimize design processes for sustainability, cost efficiency, and constructability.
- Liaise with clients to understand requirements, present design proposals, and manage design-related queries.
- Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and construction detailing for architectural elements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials,



and technology to integrate best practices into design delivery.
- Support project planning and monitoring for design milestones to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with contractors and site teams to resolve design issues during construction.
- Participate in tender documentation, BOQ preparation, and material specifications as required.

Key Requirements:

Education:

- Bachelor s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch).
- Master s Degree in Architecture/Urban Design/Project Management (preferred).
- Registration with the Council of Architecture (COA) mandatory.

Experience:

- 12+ years of experience in architectural design within civil construction projects.
- Proven track record of handling large-scale projects from concept to completion.
- Experience in leading and mentoring design teams.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, BIM, Photoshop, and MS Office.
- Understanding of structural and MEP coordination requirements.
- Strong knowledge of NBC, local bye-laws, and building codes.
- Familiarity with green building practices and sustainability certifications (IGBC/LEED).
