Role Description

As the Cost Analyst, Business Planning & Analysis (BPA), you will partner with members of the Farm Operations, Hatchery, Feed Production, Processing, Supply Chain and Logistics, Sales, Marketing and Finance teams, delivering key business insights across a vertically integrated poultry value chain.

The role reports into the Office of the Managing Director and involves working closely with senior leadership on costing, profitability and operational efficiency across all functions of the business.

Job Description / Responsibilities

Balance Sheet and P&L; Review

- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, trial balance, general ledger and fixed assets, and prepare month end reports and Management Information.
- Prepare and present the monthly P&L; with variance analysis on key cost and revenue drivers.

Opex Productivity and Cost Control

- Analyse cost trends across all cost centres, including feed, farm operations, hatchery, processing, packaging, cold chain, logistics, manpower, energy and utilities, and identify opportunities to reduce waste.
- Build and maintain product level and department level costing models, including yield, conversion and wastage analysis.
- Quantify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities, and drive implementation with the concerned teams while tracking savings realised against targets.

Business Analytics

- Analyse and report on business performance covering monthly performance, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), product, channel and customer profitability, quarterly forecasting, strategic planning, cost control, target setting, and pricing and margin analysis.
- Evaluate discounts, coupons,



trade schemes and promotional offers across channels, measuring their true cost and return, and recommend which offers to continue, restructure or withdraw, balancing sales growth with margin protection.
- Monitor trade spends and marketing outlays against approved budgets and flag leakages early.

Decision Support

- Offer data driven insights for robust business decisions, unlocking growth and profitability areas.
- Prepare briefing notes, cost analyses and decision papers for leadership reviews across departments, and track agreed actions to closure.

Process Excellence

- Lead and conduct process audits across procurement, supply chain and logistics, identify and drive process improvements, and build a culture of continuous improvement.
- Spend time at our farm and processing operations in Khopoli to understand operations first hand.

Reporting

- Provide monthly and quarterly analysis of business performance on financial metrics, supporting management to uncover trends, opportunities and threats to profitability.
- Build MIS dashboards covering sales, margins, cost centre performance and savings initiatives.

Compliance and Governance

- Support stock accounting, inventory valuation and provision control, including inventory and advances provisions,



with regular monitoring.
- Support statutory and interim audits, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

Desired profile of the candidate

- 2+ years of industry experience in costing, business finance, FP&A; or business planning and analysis, preferably in FMCG, food processing or manufacturing.
- Expert data analytics and modelling skills in Excel, with working knowledge of Tally.
- Experience working with large, complex and incomplete data sets, and with reconciliation.
- Cross functional project management experience and the ability to work with teams across operations, supply chain, sales and finance.
- Very strong quantitative and analytical skillset, with sound knowledge of costing, inventory valuation and P&L; preparation.
- Superior business judgement, with the ability to flex between big picture thinking and detailed analysis to drive strategic objectives.
- Problem solver who is action oriented, with the ability to look at problems in new ways.
- Trustworthy and discreet with highly sensitive non-public information, and the maturity to work closely with senior leadership.
- Willingness to travel periodically to our operations in Khopoli.

Education qualification

- UG: B. Com in Commerce or Any Graduate with relevant experience
- PG: CA Inter, CMA (ICWA) Inter or MBA/PGDM in Finance preferred
- Candidates with a strong costing and business analysis orientation will be given preference over pure accounting profiles.
