The Assistant Professor in Pharmacognosy will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses guiding student research conducting independent and team-oriented research in pharmacognosy and phytochemistry and contributing to the academic and administrative development of the department Key Responsibilities Teaching Deliver lectures and practical sessions on pharmacognosy phytochemistry herbal drug technology and related subjects Develop and update curriculum course materials and laboratory manuals Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and dissertations Mentor students academically and professionally Research Conduct original research in areas such as plant-based drug discovery ethnopharmacology phytochemical analysis and herbal drug standardization Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals Apply for research grants and contribute to funded projects Collaborate with industry research institutions and other departments Academic Administration Participate in departmental meetings committees and academic events Assist in organizing seminars workshops and guest lectures Contribute to accreditation and regulatory compliance efforts e g NAAC NBA PCI Assist in student admission processes and academic counseling Community Institutional Service Engage in outreach and extension activities related to herbal medicine and traditional knowledge Contribute to institutional development initiatives and policy formulation Qualifications Essential M Pharm in Pharmacognosy Phytochemistry Natural Products with first class Ph D preferred or in progress depending on institutional criteria Qualification in NET GPAT other relevant competitive exams desirable Demonstrated research aptitude and teaching ability Job Type Full-time Work Location In person
