Job Title Manager Data Engineering Location Hyderabad India Role Overview We are seeking a Manager Data Engineering to design build and evolve the digital backbone for our Advanced Synthesis ADS organization In this senior technical leadership role you will lead a team of data engineers to define and implement a scalable cloud-native data platform that connects scientific analytical and operational data to accelerate innovation improve decision-making and enable next-generation analytics and AI You will set the technical direction define architectural standards and deliver robust compliant data solutions across the ADS digital ecosystem Working closely with scientists IT partners and data science teams you will ensure data is reliable reusable and ready for advanced analytics and modeling Key Responsibilities Own and evolve the Azure-based data platform architecture leveraging ADLS ADF Microsoft Fabric and Azure Synapse Lead end-to-end platform development by defining scalable secure and performant data blueprints Drive Infrastructure-as-Code IaC and automated deployments using Azure DevOps and CI CD practices Design and oversee complex data integration pipelines across ELN LIMS MES and ERP systems using SnapLogic or equivalent iPaaS solutions Enable downstream analytics and AI by partnering with data scientists to operationalize models using Azure Machine Learning Establish and enforce data governance standards including data quality lineage FAIR principles and ALCOA compliance Provide technical leadership mentorship and best-practice guidance to data engineering teams Key Requirements Education Qualifications Bachelor s Master s degree in Computer Science Engineering Data Science or a related technical discipline is required 7 years of progressive experience in data engineering data architecture or platform engineering roles Proven experience designing delivering and operating enterprise-scale cloud-native data platforms Experience working in regulated or quality-driven environments such as life sciences chemicals manufacturing or healthcare is highly desirable Demonstrated leadership experience managing and mentoring data engineering teams Robust hands-on experience with the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem including ADF ADLS Azure Synapse Azure ML and Microsoft Fabric Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL with experience building robust scalable data pipelines Experience with data orchestration frameworks API design and data ingestion patterns Hands-on experience with CI CD pipelines Git-based version control and Infrastructure-as-Code tools ARM Bicep or Terraform Familiarity with iPaaS platforms such as SnapLogic or equivalent integration technologies Experience enabling analytics and reporting through Power BI or similar BI tools Strong understanding of data governance concepts including data quality metadata management and lineage Experience implementing data platforms aligned with FAIR principles Findable Accessible Interoperable Reusable Ability to design and maintain compliant data solutions aligned with ALCOA and GxP standards Leadership Soft Skills Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to business scientific and IT stakeholders Strong collaboration skills and experience working in global cross-functional environments Strategic thinker with a cloud-native mindset and focus on long-term platform sustainability Hands-on leader with a strong coaching mentality and passion for developing technical talent Proactive problem solver with a bias toward automation and operational excellence Preferred Certifications Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect Expert AZ-305 Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer Associate DP-203 Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert AZ-400 About Lonza At Lonza our people are our greatest strength With 30 sites across five continents our globally connected teams work together every day to manufacture the medicines of tomorrow Our core values Collaboration Accountability Excellence Passion and Integrity reflect who we are and how we work together Innovation thrives when people from all backgrounds bring their unique perspectives to the table If you re ready to help turn our customers breakthrough ideas into viable therapies we look forward to welcoming you on board
