Role & responsibilities
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for management.
- Generate reports on donations, expenditures, projects, budgets, and fund utilization.
- Analyse financial trends and highlight variances.
- Maintain dashboards for management decision-making.
- Scrutinize all General Ledger accounts regularly.
- Verify accounting entries for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and rectify accounting discrepancies.
- Ensure proper accounting classification and coding.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.
- Coordinate with banks for account operations, documentation, cheque issuance, RTGS/NEFT, online banking, and account-related matters.
- Track pending banking transactions and resolve reconciliation issues promptly.
- Maintain Bank Book in Microsoft Excel with daily updates.
- Monitor bank balances and cash flow.
- Ensure reconciliation between accounting software and Excel records.
- Pass accounting vouchers and journal entries.
- Verify payment vouchers and supporting documents.
- Monitor receivables, payables, and advances.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and accounting policies.
- Monitor budget utilization against approved budgets.
- Assist in implementing process improvements and internal controls.
- Support statutory, internal, donor, and project audits.
- Prepare schedules and documentation required by auditors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and NGO regulations.
- Maintain project-wise and donor-wise accounting records.
- Track fund utilization and prepare utilization statements.
- Monitor restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Assist in TDS, GST (where applicable), Qualified Tax, and other statutory compliances.
- Coordinate with consultants for statutory filings.
- Maintain compliance records and documentation.
- Maintain proper accounting files and digital records.
- Ensure secure storage of financial documents.
- Support document retrieval during audits and inspections.
- Liaise with internal departments for financial information.
- Coordinate with vendors, banks, auditors, consultants, and donors whenever required.
- Support budgeting and annual financial planning.
- Prepare ad hoc financial reports as required by management.
- Perform any other finance and accounts-related duties assigned by the management.
Experience in an NGO, Trust, Society, or Section 8 Company will be preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Excellent Advanced Excel preferred
- Hands-on experience with Tally ERP / Tally Prime or other accounting software.
- Robust analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Good understanding of banking operations.
- Knowledge of fund accounting and donor reporting.
- Ability to prepare MIS and financial dashboards.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
