About Christel House Christel House is a non-profit organization specializing in educating and transforming the lives of impoverished children around the world Towards this end Christel House schools provide a robust K-12 education nutritious meals a strong character development program college career support and family assistance Job Title Primary School Teacher Job Overview As a primary school teacher you are responsible for nurturing the academic social and emotional development of young children You create a positive learning environment where students can explore learn and grow The role involves planning and delivering lessons assessing student progress and collaborating with colleagues and parents to support each child s educational journey Main Roles Responsibilities Specific duties and responsibilities of the Primary School Teacher will include as follows but will not be limited to the following 1 Curriculum Development and Implementation Plan and prepare courses schemes of work and individual lesson plans tailored to students needs Integrate subjects like EVS literacy and maths to create a comprehensive learning experience Employ diverse teaching methods such as storytelling educational play and media to engage students effectively Organize field trips aligned with the curriculum to provide hands-on learning experiences Foster values and independent thinking among students through experiential learning 2 Student Assessment and Support Assess individual student progress through formative and summative assessments and update the scores on the student information system SIS and Share point Communicate with parents during parent-teacher meetings to understand students backgrounds and update parents on their progress Analyse and provide oral written reports for FA SA data along with Instructional Coach and D P to support student learning and growth Collaborate and work with R T I Response to Intervention and co-curricular teachers to refine and implement an integrated curriculum 3 Classroom Management and Environment Ensure classrooms are protected positive and nurturing environments conducive to learning Contribute to creating attractive displays throughout the class that align with the curriculum Model appropriate behaviour and communication while enforcing school rules and values Supervise students during transitions including walking with them to and from the dining hall and during dispersal to ensure their safety and well-being 4 Other Important tasks Serve as a homeroom class teacher with responsibility for the day-to-day pastoral care of students Attend meetings such as staff and departmental meetings Carry out supervisory duties at assembly lunch times Attend workshops and support student functions outside of the regular school day Serve on House duties and Committees as required Act as a substitution teacher for other teachers in the absence of a teacher or as per the need Maintain regular attendance during all scheduled school days Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor Create supplementary resources like charts and worksheets to enhance classroom learning Participate in invigilation and evaluation duties as per the requirements Prepare students for events like Sports days Class assembly Annual days and STEM Literary Fests Complete appraisal documents and submit them to the immediate Supervisor as part of professional development requirements Reflect on teaching practices and contribute to school-wide reviews of policies and aims Keep accurate records of attendance grades and other relevant data Qualifications Requirements Bachelor s Degree Diploma degree in education Prior experience as a primary school teacher preferable Excellent understanding of the principles of child development and educational methods to teach primary students Excellent communication instructional and storytelling skills Well versed on how to use Microsoft Word Excel and PPT Patient friendly and reliable Job Type Full-time Pay 25 000 00 - 35 000 00 per month Benefits Food provided Health insurance Leave encashment Provident Fund Work Location In person
