and scalable technology that powers critical operations worldwide About the Role The Systems Administrator at Scale Computing works closely with the IT Manager to manage and enhance the organization s IT systems and infrastructure This full time in-office role focuses on maintaining system reliability providing technical expertise and supporting critical IT operations The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in dynamic environments demonstrates strong organizational skills and is committed to delivering exceptional in-office IT support Essential Functions This role ensures seamless daily operations by addressing technical challenges managing internal systems and supporting employees with their IT needs It requires a solutions-oriented mindset attention to detail and a collaborative approach to maintaining a reliable and efficient IT environment Key Responsibilities Employee Support Provide in-office IT assistance including onboarding offboarding workstation and peripheral setup and troubleshooting issues Equipment Maintenance Oversee and maintain common-use equipment such as conference room technology Infrastructure Management Manage core platforms including JumpCloud Dialpad Confluence Jira Google Workspace email systems and security systems System Administration Ensure high system performance through monitoring patching troubleshooting and user account management Security Compliance Maintain security protocols enforce policies and ensure compliance with industry standards Documentation Maintain detailed records of system configurations standard procedures and technical reports This role requires a hands-on professional with excellent technical expertise and a strong commitment to providing direct in-office support to employees Success Metrics for the Systems Administrator Role Efficiently supports IT initiatives such as employee onboarding offboarding infrastructure management and system maintenance while maintaining high-quality standards Completes tasks like equipment setup software deployments and infrastructure upgrades within set deadlines Ensures seamless implementation of IT systems minimizing disruption to internal operations and employee productivity Demonstrates punctuality and reliability by adhering to schedules and ensuring timely support Balances in-office presence and remote work with sound judgment being present for critical support or collaboration needs while leveraging remote opportunities when appropriate Requirements Job Qualifications for Systems Administrator Expertise in administering Linux Windows and macOS systems Proven ability to lead and organize tasks within a team-oriented environment Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address complex IT issues efficiently Demonstrates a commitment to consistency accuracy and quality in all tasks Flexibility to accommodate work hours as needed to support internal operations Willingness to pursue and maintain relevant industry certifications to enhance technical expertise Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as PCI ensuring adherence to security standards Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with employees and stakeholders Work Environment This role is based in a professional office workplace and requires the Systems Administrator to work on-site 3 days a week 2 days of work from home with Wednesday as a mandatory day in the office to provide hands-on support for internal employees The role involves regular use of standard office equipment including computers phones printers and conference room technology Physical Demands Primarily a sedentary position however occasional physical activity is required such as setting up workstations moving IT equipment or assisting with office relocations Position Type Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time in-office position at Scale Computing operating Monday through Friday 7 00 AM-4 00 PM Morning Shift 2PM to 11 PM Afternoon shift Subject to Change when management needs another timing Participation in an on-call rotation is required to address critical issues outside of standard business hours weekends Flexibility may occasionally be needed to support urgent operational needs or ensure system security and availability Travel Travel for this role is generally minimal but may occasionally be required between Scale Computing offices or to customer sites Additionally attendance at industry conferences and training sessions may necessitate limited travel Required Education and Experience Associate degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience 1-2 years of experience in system administration with basic knowledge of Linux Windows and macOS environments Understanding of network basics including LAN WAN and experience working with switches routers or firewalls Familiarity with IT security fundamentals and compliance best practices Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to assist in small projects or team tasks Eagerness to learn and develop skills in a hands-on IT role with mentorship opportunities Preferred Education and Experience Certifications related to system administration such as CompTIA Security Network or Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator MCSA Experience with system administration tools and platforms like JumpCloud Jira Confluence MFA systems and Web APIs Foundational scripting skills in Python or BASH to assist with automating administrative tasks Familiarity with managing Windows Server environments including Active Directory and Group Policy Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure AWS Azure or Google Cloud in a system administration context Knowledge of IT security principles and experience with tools or certifications like CEH or CompTIA Security Interest in streamlining and automating recurring system administration processes to enhance efficiency Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA CIS Controls or similar standards is a plus Disclaimer This job description outlines the primary
