General Manager (Supply Chain Management)

Role Overview:

The General Manager Supply Chain Management will lead and optimize the end-to-end supply chain operations for the organization, covering global sourcing, imports, demand planning, warehousing, logistics, and distribution. The role requires strategic oversight as well as solid execution capabilities to support business growth, cost efficiency, service levels, and compliance across domestic and international operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership

• Define and execute a robust supply chain strategy aligned with business growth, cost optimization, and service excellence.

• Act as a strategic partner to sales, finance, manufacturing, and leadership teams.

• Lead, mentor, and develop SCM, logistics, and warehouse teams across locations.

2. Global Sourcing & Imports

• Manage end-to-end import operations from China and other global sourcingmarkets.

• Oversee vendor coordination, production planning, shipment scheduling, and documentation.

• Ensure compliance with customs, DGFT, BIS, and other regulatory requirements.

• Optimize lead times, freight costs, and duty structures.

3. Demand Planning & Inventory Management

• Drive accurate demand forecasting in coordination with sales and marketing teams.

• Maintain optimal inventory levels across warehouses to balance working capital and service levels.

• Reduce slow-moving, obsolete, and non-moving inventory through structured controls.

4. Warehousing & Distribution (India)

• Oversee multi-location warehouses across India, ensuring operational efficiency and cost control.





• Improve warehouse productivity, space utilization, and inventory accuracy.

• Manage secondary logistics, distributor servicing, and last-mile delivery performance.

5. Logistics & Transportation

• Manage primary and secondary transportation networks.

• Negotiate and manage contracts with freight forwarders, transporters, and logistics partners.

• Drive cost optimization while maintaining delivery timelines and service benchmarks.

6. Process Excellence & Systems

• Strengthen SCM processes, SOPs, and controls across imports, warehousing, and distribution.

• Drive ERP / WMS / TMS adoption and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Implement best practices in SCM governance, reporting, and risk management.

7. Cost Management & Compliance

• Own SCM budgets, cost tracking, and savings initiatives.

• Ensure adherence to statutory, safety, and compliance standards across operations.

• Prepare MIS, dashboards, and reviews for senior management.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of consumer durables / electronics supply chains.

• Hands-on experience in imports from China and global vendors.

• Expertise in demand planning, inventory optimization, and logistics cost control.

• Proven leadership in managing large, multi-location teams.

• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• High analytical ability with strong command over SCM KPIs and MIS.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering / Supply Chain / Logistics / Operations

• MBA / PGDM in Operations, Supply Chain, or Logistics preferred

Experience Profile:

• 18-25 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain Management

• Mandatory experience in consumer durables / consumer electronics / appliances

• Prior experience at Senior Manager / GM / DGM level handling pan-India operations
