Key Roles & Responsibilities
Role Overview: The incumbent will lead the Business Excellence function for the organization, operating as an internal consulting leader managing a team of ~4 Black Belts, Process Specialists, and RPA/Automation Experts. In this role, you will drive the organization's continuous improvement mandate by combining Lean Six Sigma methodologies with digital automation (RPA, AI, process optimization tools). You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and delivering high-impact transformation projects that optimize operational models, elevate service standards, reduce turnaround times (TAT),
and foster a sustainable culture of innovation and systems thinking.
Core Responsibilities:
- Internal Consulting & Strategic Leadership: Act as the organizational "Think Tank" to identify, prioritize, and execute strategic, cross-functional transformation initiatives that directly impact key business performance metrics.
- Process Excellence & Quality Optimization: Apply Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Kaizen, Design Thinking, Value Stream Mapping, and Systems Thinking methodologies to re-engineer core processes, conduct root cause analysis, eliminate defects, and optimize service delivery costs.
- Digital & Automation Drive: Leverage digital tools (RPA, AI, process automation) alongside traditional continuous improvement methods to deliver smart, scalable process solutions without disrupting the live production environment.
- Workforce & Capacity Analytics: Utilize data-driven models to forecast, plan, track, and monitor manpower requirements and operational capacity based on SLA commitments, volume projections, and business targets.
- Governance & Operational Alignment: Validate the operational impact of process changes, adjust performance metrics/goals accordingly, and ensure robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are documented and maintained across all functional processes.
- Capability Building & Mentorship: Mentor Green Belt and process improvement projects across the organization; design and facilitate process improvement workshops to drive innovative problem-solving and engagement.
- Executive Reporting: Prepare and deliver real-time progress reports, productivity analytics, risk assessments, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
Key Requirements
Education & Certificates
- Education: Bachelors degree (Graduate/Engineer)
from a top-tier institute. An MBA from a premier business school is highly desirable.
- Certifications:
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt is strongly preferred. (In the absence of formal Black Belt certification, a proven track record of leading large-scale process improvement programs is mandatory).
- Certifications in Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, or Agile frameworks are an added advantage.
- Technical & Automation Exposure: Hands-on exposure to or understanding of automation and digital platforms (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate, Python, VBA, AI-driven process tools).
- Domain & Background: A blend of management consulting and corporate execution experience is preferred. Prior exposure to the Insurance or BFSI sector is desirable, but not mandatory.
Key Requirements
Experience & Skills Experience:
- Proven leadership experience managing internal consulting, process excellence, or digital transformation teams in a matrixed organization.
- Track record of executing high-impact, cross-functional projects with direct visibility and reporting to CXO-level leadership.
- Hands-on experience in operational capacity planning, manpower forecasting, and workflow analysis based on changing business dynamics.
Mindset & Leadership:
- An entrepreneurial, self-starter mindset with a relentless focus on customer experience and value creation.
- Robust change management capability to embed systems thinking and continuous improvement into the organizational culture.
Analytical & Technical Skills:
- Exceptional data analytics, root cause analysis, and problem-solving abilities, balancing logical rigor with intuitive business judgment.
- Ability to evaluate project ROI, trade-offs, and risk factors across KPIs, budgets, scope, time, and quality constraints.
Communication & Facilitation:
- Superior executive presentation skills (verbal and written/PowerPoint) with the ability to articulate complex process changes to senior stakeholders.
- Strong workshop design and group facilitation skills across multi-disciplinary teams.
