Job Purpose

To develop, optimize, and monitor PVC compound formulations used in the manufacturing of PVC edgebands, ensuring consistent product quality, process efficiency, and compliance with customer and company specifications.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and optimize PVC formulations for edgeband applications.

* Evaluate and approve raw materials including PVC resin, stabilizers, plasticizers, fillers, pigments, lubricants, and processing aids.

* Conduct laboratory testing of raw materials, PVC compounds, and finished edgebands.

* Support production during compounding, extrusion, and printing trials by resolving formulation and processing issues.

* Analyze product defects such as colour variation, brittleness, shrinkage, poor surface finish, and dimensional instability, and implement corrective actions.

* Ensure product performance meets specifications for colour, flexibility, impact strength, gloss, and heat resistance.

* Prepare and maintain formulation records, batch reports, technical data sheets, and laboratory documentation.

* Work closely with Production, Quality, Procurement,



and Printing teams to improve product consistency and reduce manufacturing costs.

* Drive cost optimization by identifying alternative raw materials without compromising quality.

* Ensure compliance with ISO standards, quality systems, safety procedures, and environmental regulations.

* Participate in recent product development, customer sample development, and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

* B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or Polymer Science.

* B.Tech./M.Tech. in Polymer Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or Chemical Engineering is preferred.

Experience

* 5 to 8 years of experience in PVC compounds, PVC extrusion, edgebands, PVC profiles, WPC, pipes, cables, or other polymer manufacturing.

* Experience in PVC formulation development and laboratory testing is preferred.
