Key responsibilities include:
- Providing editorial and administrative support across all stages of the publishing process under the guidance of your manager.
- Learning to prioritise workloads, manage competing demands, and respond efficiently to routine queries and tasks.
- Assisting with project set-up, including creating and maintaining accurate product and content data within internal systems.
- Processing and tracking content and data, including loading, reviewing, editing, and manipulating content in various systems.
- Maintaining accurate tracking systems and producing reports and samples as required.
- Supporting the development and improvement of editorial systems and workflows.
- Processing standard contracts, arranging signatures, maintaining records, handling routine contract queries, and liaising with Royalties and Publications teams.
- Supporting authors by responding to routine queries, providing standard materials, explaining content delivery requirements, and maintaining positive relationships with contributors.
- Processing payment requests and ensuring timely and accurate payments to suppliers, authors, and freelancers.
- Managing requests for complimentary access to OUP products and services.
- Providing administrative support to senior departmental leaders when required, including report preparation, calendar management, meeting coordination, agenda management, and liaison with support functions.
- Assisting with departmental best practice, training, and policy documentation.
- Collaborating with colleagues across Editorial, Content Operations, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Royalties, Publications, and other teams to ensure smooth delivery of publishing activities.
- Assisting with preparing content for Production, including basic editing, metadata updates, and content assessment.
- Occasionally preparing materials and notices for Sales and Marketing teams.
- Monitoring content throughout the Production workflow and ensuring queries are addressed promptly.
- Contributing positively to additional projects and initiatives as agreed with your manager.

This role is essential to the successful delivery of OUPs publishing programme. You will help ensure smooth editorial operations, support authors and contributors, maintain accurate data and workflows, and contribute to the quality and timely publication of academic content. Your work will help strengthen collaboration across teams and support the wider goals of the Academic Division and OUP.
