Job Description Lead: Payroll HR Operations

Role Overview We are looking for a Lead Payroll HR Operations to own and drive end-to-end payroll, statutory compliance, and HR operations across the organization. This role requires deep expertise in payroll governance, compliance frameworks, and operational excellence, with the ability to manage scale, accuracy, and audits in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Payroll Management (Core Ownership) Lead end-to-end payroll processing (monthly, off-cycle, reimbursements, variable pay) with high accuracy and timelines. Manage payroll inputs: attendance, leaves, incentives, bonuses, deductions, tax declarations. Ensure error-free salary disbursement and payroll reconciliation. Oversee multi-entity / multi-location payroll (if applicable). Drive payroll automation and system optimization.
- Statutory Compliance Returns Ensure 100% compliance with PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, TDS, Gratuity and other applicable laws. Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual statutory filings/returns. Liaise with government authorities (PF, ESIC, Labour Dept.). Manage statutory audits, inspections, and notices. Maintain audit-ready documentation and compliance trackers.
- HR Operations Governance Own HR operations lifecycle: onboarding, employee data management, documentation. Maintain and govern HRMS and payroll systems. Ensure accurate employee records, contracts, and policy adherence. Drive process standardization and SOP creation.
- Employee Exits FNF Manage end-to-end exit process including resignation to clearance. Ensure accurate and timely Full Final (FNF) settlements. Handle gratuity, leave encashment, recovery, and statutory payouts. Reduce FNF turnaround time and improve employee experience.

Reporting Analytics Generate and review monthly payroll MIS, variance reports, and dashboards. Provide insights on cost analysis, headcount, and payroll trends. Support finance in GL reconciliation and payroll accounting.
- Stakeholder Vendor Management Coordinate with Finance, HRBP, external payroll vendors, and consultants. Manage third-party payroll (if applicable contract/blue collar workforce). Resolve employee queries and escalations with strong TAT adherence.

Key Requirements

- Must-Have 8 12 years of experience in Payroll HR Operations
- Robust exposure to statutory compliances filings (PF, ESIC, TDS, etc.)
- Hands-on experience managing payroll for 500+ to 5000+ employees
- Expertise in FNF, audits, and compliance frameworks
- Strong working knowledge of Excel (advanced), MIS, reconciliations
