We are looking for an experienced QSR / Specialty Chef with strong hands-on expertise in Mexican cuisine and other global dishes to lead kitchen execution, recipe standardization, and food quality in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The role requires a chef who can balance taste, consistency, speed of service, hygiene compliance, and menu innovation for high-volume operations.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and execute Mexican dishes and other specialty menu items as per standardized recipes and presentation norms.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, plating, and speed of output during daily kitchen operations.
- Develop, test, and refine recipes that are scalable for QSR operations while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.
- Oversee food preparation, mise en place, ingredient handling, and kitchen workflow for smooth service delivery.
- Maintain strict food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness standards at all times.
- Monitor inventory, reduce wastage, support cost control, and coordinate with procurement for quality ingredients.
- Train and guide kitchen staff on recipes, cooking techniques, SOPs, and quality benchmarks.
- Contribute to new menu development by studying food trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings.
- Work closely with operations and management teams to support launches, promotions, and process improvements.
Candidate profile
- 5 to 10 years of relevant culinary experience, preferably in QSR, cloud kitchen, casual dining, or specialty restaurant formats.
- Strong expertise in Mexican cuisine, including tacos, burritos, quesadillas, rice bowls, salsas, dips, grills, and sauces, along with capability in other continental or fusion dishes.
- Good knowledge of recipe standardization, kitchen SOPs, food costing, and batch production.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment without compromising food quality.
- Solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Team-handling skills, discipline, and a practical problem-solving approach.
- Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or a related field is preferred.
