About the Project
- We are developing an innovative, high-utility kitchen tap water filter designed to bring clean, safe drinking water directly to Indian households.
- While the core mechanical functionality, engineering, and fluid dynamics are fully managed in-house, we are looking for a visionary Industrial Designer to own the product's visual identity, form factor, and human-centric design.
- Your mission will be to transform a highly functional engineering prototype into a beautiful, intuitive, and trustworthy kitchen appliance that fits seamlessly into the modern Indian household.
Role Overview
- As the Lead Industrial Designer, you will focus entirely on the aesthetics, ergonomics, and psychology of the product.
- Water is deeply tied to health and family safety; therefore, your design must visually communicate cleanliness, reliability, and premium quality.
- You will decode consumer behavior to create a look and feel that instantly builds trust the moment a user looks at or touches the tap filter.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept Generation: Develop sketch concepts, form studies, and 3D aesthetic models that balance modern design with emotional reassurance (safety, hygiene, and trust).
- Human-Centric Design (UX/UI for Hardware): Analyze how users interact with kitchen taps, ensuring the filter is ergonomic, easy to operate, and intuitive to clean or maintain.
- CMF Selection (Color, Material, Finish):
Define the visual and tactile language of the product.
- Select materials and finishes that look premium, resist kitchen grime, and withstand the Indian water workplace.
- Market & Behavioral Research: Apply deep insights into Indian kitchen layouts, space constraints, and consumer psychology regarding water purification.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with the Lead Mechanical Engineer (who manages SolidWorks implementation and internal mechanics) to ensure your design concepts are viable for manufacturing without losing their aesthetic intent.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience designing physical consumer products, home appliances, or lifestyle hardware (experience in the Indian consumer goods market is a massive plus).
- Education: Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field (e.g., NID, IIT-IDC, or equivalent portfolio-backed expertise).
- Psychology-Driven Design: A strong understanding of behavioral designknowing how shapes, colors, and textures influence a user's perception of safety and trust.
- Tools: Proficiency in industrial design rendering tools (e.g., Keyshot, Rhino, Blender, or Fusion 360, etc) to deliver high-fidelity visual concepts.
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing the journey from consumer insight and sketching to final aesthetic form and CMF definitions.
- Location - Delhi, Gurugram, Noida, Kanpur, Lucknow.
