General Manager/ Sr. Manager & Manager Marketing for Transmission Line Structures, Railway Towers, Telecom Towers and Substation Structures
Job Overview
We are looking for a marketing professional with strong knowledge of Transmission Line Structures, Railway Towers, Telecom Towers and Substation Structures to generate inquiries, manage tenders and build long-term client relationships with power utilities, railway authorities, EPC contractors, and industrial clients. The role bridges marketing, sales, and basic technical knowledge to position the company as a preferred supplier of steel fabrication and structural solutions for transmission, telecom and railway projects.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market & Inquiry Generation
- Generate and track inquiries for:
- Transmission Line Structures, Latticed Towers.
- Telcom Tower for Railway.
- Substation Structures (gantries & equipment foundation).
2. Client Relationship & Business Development
- Conduct site visits and client meetings with project managers, engineering heads, and procurement teams.
- Present company capabilities, past projects, quality certifications, and delivery timelines.
- Develop and nurture relationships with:
- Transmission Companies
- Railway Authorities
- Substation Developers and EPC Firms
- Negotiate terms, prices and delivery schedules in coordination with the sales/ management team.
3. Marketing & Communication
- Develop Marketing Materials: Brochures, Capability Statements, Project Portfolios and case studies focused on transmission, railway, and substation structures.
- Coordinate participation in industry exhibitions, seminars, and power/ railway conferences.
- Work with Digital Marketing to maintain website content, LinkedIn presence, and B2B platforms related to structural steel and power infrastructure.
4. Coordination with Internal Teams
- Liaise with:
- Design/ Engineering for technical clarifications and drawings.
- Production for capacity, lead time, and quality assurance.
- Project Management for execution status to share with clients.
- Finance for credit terms, payment schedules, and invoicing support.
- Ensure that marketing promises align with actual production and delivery capabilities.
5. Market Intelligence & Reporting
- Track market trends:
- New transmission/Railway projects
- Tariff and policy changes affecting infrastructure spending
- Competitor pricing and product offerings
- Prepare weekly/ monthly reports on:
- Inquiries generated
- Tenders participated
- Conversion rates
- Revenue forecasts
Required qualifications & Experience
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Metallurgical)
- OR MBA/ BBA (Marketing) with strong interest in industrial/ power sectors.
- Experience:
- 10–15 years in marketing/ sales in:
- Steel Fabrication, Structural Steel, Power Infrastructure, or Heavy Engineering.
- Preferably with exposure to transmission towers, railway towers, or substation structures.
- Technical Understanding:
- Basic knowledge of:
- Transmission line design concepts (tower types, loads, heights)
- Railway tower applications (communication, signalling, power)
- Substation structure types and functions
- Ability to read and interpret basic drawings/ specifications.
Skills
- Solid communication and presentation skills for client meetings and tenders.
- Proficiency in:
- MS Excel (for pipeline, pricing and reporting)
- Email, tender portals, and basic CRM tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
- Good negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of tender processes bid documentation and compliance requirements.
Performance Metrics
- Number of qualified inquiries generated per month/ quarter.
- Number of tenders participated and conversion rate.
- Revenue booked from transmission, railway, and substation structure projects.
- Growth in client base and repeat orders.
- Accuracy and timeliness of tender submissions and reporting.
