Job Title: Backend Developer (API Development)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Backend Developer with a strong focus on designing, building, and maintaining high-quality APIs. You will work as part of a collaborative development team to deliver secure, scalable, and maintainable backend services that power our applications and integrations.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience with C#, ASP.NET Web API, and RESTful API development, along with a passion for clean architecture, performance, and modern software engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

- • Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using C# and ASP.NET Web API.
- • Build scalable, secure, and high-performing backend services.
- • Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, and product teams to define API contracts and integration requirements.
- • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following established coding standards.
- • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
- • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production issues.
- • Contribute to API documentation and technical design discussions.
- • Ensure applications meet performance, security, and reliability requirements.
- • Support CI/CD processes and automated deployments where appropriate.

Required Skills & Experience

- • Strong commercial experience with C#.
- • Robust experience developing ASP.NET Web API applications.




- • Excellent understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices.
- • Experience with JSON, HTTP, authentication, and API security (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
- • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
- • Experience with source control (Git).
- • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills (Not Essential)

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

- • GraphQL
- • Bicep (Infrastructure as Code)
- • Azure DevOps Pipelines
- • Microsoft Aspire
- • Dapr
- • Kubernetes

Nice to Have

- • Experience with cloud-native application development on Microsoft Azure.
- • Familiarity with microservices architecture.
- • Knowledge of automated testing (unit and integration testing).
- • Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- • Understanding of observability, logging, and monitoring practices.
