Position Summary:

Title: AI Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers building the platform's AI-native core.
- Own the delivery and reliability of the platform's AI systems extraction, retrieval, agents, and decisioning each with defined evaluations and guardrails.
- Set model strategy across prompting, tool use, retrieval, and fine-tuning, and decide build versus-buy for AI components.
- Establish evaluation, observability, and cost controls for AI systems, tracking accuracy, latency, and cost-per-interaction.
- Embed AI-assisted engineering practices across specification, implementation, testing, review, and documentation, raising delivery throughput to approximately twice the current pace within twelve months at constant headcount.
- Evaluate AI-assisted output for correctness, reliability, and risk before it reaches production.
- Lead the platform's migration from a monolith to a modular monolith with clearly defined domain boundaries.
- Manage performance, career development, and hiring, maintaining a consistent engineering standard.

First-Year Objectives :

- Core AI surfaces running in production with documented evaluations, guardrails, and cost per-interaction tracking.
- The first domain modules extracted in the monolith-to-modular-monolith transition.




- A measurable improvement in delivery throughput against an agreed baseline, with AI assisted engineering practices adopted as the team's standard.

Required Qualifications :

- 6-7 years building production software, including a minimum of 2 years managing engineers.
- Demonstrated experience delivering production AI or LLM systems for example structured outputs, tool use, retrieval-augmented generation, agent orchestration, or systematic model evaluation.
- Experience defining evaluations, guardrails, and cost or latency controls for AI systems in production.

• Production experience with Node.js and TypeScript, and a up-to-date frontend framework (Angular preferred; React considered), deployed on AWS.

- Demonstrated experience introducing modular boundaries within an existing monolithic codebase.
- A clear, evidence-based view of which AI-assisted engineering practices improve throughput, and how to measure them.
- Strong written communication.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in a B2B marketplace, SaaS, or procurement domain.
- Experience with vision or multimodal models in production.
- Experience building internal AI platform components model gateway, evaluation harness, prompt registry, or LLM observability.

Professional proficiency : Hindi and English.

Location and Working Model: This is a full-time, in-office position based in New Delhi
