Delhi

Bharat Skytech Private Limited (BSPL) is scaling its Drone-as-a-Service (DaaS) division for agricultural spraying across India. We are hiring a senior Business Development Manager to win large, recurring spraying contracts from India's fertilizer companies the sector that is now the single largest institutional buyer of drone-spraying capacity, driven by the nationwide push for nano and liquid fertilizers. This document defines the role for recruitment purposes.

WHY THIS ROLE THE OPPORTUNITY

Fertilizer companies are buying drone-spraying at scale because it is the delivery channel for their new nano-liquid products (Nano Urea, Nano DAP, Nano NPK) and foliar/water-soluble fertilizers, which only perform when sprayed correctly. IFFCO alone has committed to thousands of agri-drones and a large ruralpreneur network under its DRONAI program, and the Department of Fertilizers is running multi-state nano-fertilizer campaigns across all agro-climatic zones. This creates sustained, high-volume demand for a reliable spraying-services partner. The BD Manager's mandate is to convert that demand into large, multi-season BSPL contracts.

Experience

5–8+ years in B2B / institutional agri-input sales; direct experience selling to or working within fertilizer / agrochemical companies strongly preferred

15-25 LPA fixed + performance-linked incentive / commission on contract value (attractive upside)

Function

ROLE PURPOSE

The Business Development Manager will own the fertilizer-company vertical for BSPL's DaaS business — identifying, pursuing and closing large spraying contracts, MoUs and season-long service programs with major fertilizer manufacturers, cooperatives and their channel networks. The role is measured on signed contract value, recurring revenue and the strength of the strategic account book built. It suits a relationship-driven enterprise seller who understands how fertilizer companies plan product launches, run field campaigns and buy field services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Account Acquisition

- Identify, map and pursue large-contract opportunities across India's fertilizer manufacturers and cooperatives (see target accounts below).
- Position BSPL as the preferred drone-spraying services partner for nano-fertilizer, foliar and water-soluble product campaigns.
- Build and own a qualified pipeline of enterprise opportunities, from first contact through to signed contract.
- Win business tied to product launches, district-level campaigns and demonstration drives (e.g. nano-fertilizer awareness abhiyans).

2. Deal Structuring & Contract Closure

- Design commercially sound proposals — per-acre, per-campaign, seasonal and annual service models — that fit each client's product and budget cycle.
- Negotiate and close MoUs, master service agreements and rate contracts; manage RFP/tender responses where applicable.
- Structure large multi-district / multi-state programs with clear coverage, pricing, SLAs and payment terms.
- Work with BSPL leadership on pricing strategy, margin protection and contract risk (advances, PBG, back-to-back terms).

3. Relationship & Stakeholder Management

- Build senior relationships with marketing directors, agri-services / nano-fertilizer program heads, zonal and regional managers, and procurement teams within fertilizer companies.
- Engage cooperative networks, PMKSK (Kisan Samridhi Kendra) channels, FPOs and state agri-departments that fertilizer companies work through.
- Serve as the trusted single point of contact for key accounts, driving renewals and expansion into new geographies and products.

4. Market & Campaign Alignment

- Track fertilizer companies' nano / liquid-fertilizer launch calendars and government campaigns to time BSPL's pitches for maximum conversion.
- Align BSPL's spraying capacity and demonstration support with clients' field-marketing and farmer-outreach programs.
- Convert applicable government schemes and subsidy-linked programs (Namo Drone Didi, SMAM, Kisan Drone, nano-fertilizer abhiyans) into joint opportunities.

5. Commercial & Revenue Ownership

- Own the vertical's sales targets — signed contract value, recurring revenue and new-account additions.
- Build the annual BD plan, account-level growth plans and an accurate sales forecast.
- Ensure healthy unit economics on closed deals in coordination with the operations/delivery team.

6. Cross-functional Coordination

- Partner closely with the DaaS Operations Head to confirm capacity, feasibility, geographic coverage and delivery timelines before committing to clients.
- Coordinate demonstrations, pilots and proof-of-concept sprays that de-risk large-contract decisions.
- Feed client requirements back into service design, pricing and fleet-planning decisions.

7. Market Intelligence & Reporting

- Maintain a live view of competitor activity, client procurement patterns and emerging demand across the fertilizer sector.
- Provide leadership with regular pipeline, forecast and win/loss reporting via CRM and MIS dashboards.

The successful candidate will build and prioritise a target list including — but not limited to — the following, based on their nano / liquid-fertilizer and drone-spraying activity:
