Job Description: Research , Design and Development Engineer (Mechanical)

Salary: Rs. 3 LPA to Rs. 8 LPA + incentives
Incentives: Typically Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 30,000 per month (but uncapped as per performance)

Role

We are looking for a smart, hands-on Engineers who can develop first units and prototypes for new production orders.

The role involves converting client requirements, drawings and ideas into practical, production-ready and cost-effective products.

This is a shop-floor and engineering role, not just a design role. The candidate must have a strong engineering mindset, be excellent with numbers, and should be comfortable with costing. Math must be second nature.

Responsibilities

- Build and engineer first prototypes for new products and production orders.
- Do R&D; on structures, materials, mechanisms and production methods.
- Check product strength, fitment, finishing, stability and manufacturability.
- Prepare basic costing, material consumption, wastage and process cost calculations.




- Suggest ways to make products stronger, cheaper, faster and easier to manufacture.
- Coordinate with design, costing, production, fabrication, carpentry, printing and assembly teams.
- Update drawings, BOMs, costing notes and prototype learnings for production handover.
- Help reduce errors, rework and wastage before bulk production starts

Requirements

- Smart engineering mindset with strong practical problem-solving ability.
- Very solid math and costing sense.
- Ability to read basic technical drawings.
- Good understanding of materials, fabrication, assembly and manufacturing.
- Hands-on attitude and willingness to work on the shop floor.
- CAD knowledge will be an advantage.

Preferred Background

Mechanical / Production / Product Design / Tool Room / Fabrication / Sheet Metal / Furniture / Display Manufacturing.

Experience

1 to 5 years preferred. Freshers with robust practical ability, math and costing sense may also apply.
