Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified AFIH (Associate Fellow of Industrial Health) Doctor to manage occupational health services at the Occupational Health Centre (OHC). The candidate will be responsible for providing preventive, promotive, and curative healthcare services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting employee health and wellness initiatives.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
* Provide primary medical care to employees for occupational and non-occupational illnesses and injuries.
* Assess, diagnose, and manage medical emergencies until referral or transfer.
* Conduct fitness-for-duty assessments and issue medical fitness certificates.
* Manage occupational diseases and work-related health conditions.
Occupational Health Services
* Conduct Pre-Employment Medical Examinations (PEME), Annual Health Check-ups (AHC), Periodical Medical Examinations (PME), and Exit Medical Examinations.
* Monitor employees exposed to occupational hazards through medical surveillance programs.
* Interpret investigation reports such as audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, ECG, X-ray, and laboratory reports.
Emergency Response
* Lead emergency medical response during workplace incidents.
* Coordinate ambulance services and referrals to higher medical centers.
* Ensure emergency medicines and equipment are always available and functional.
Health Surveillance & Compliance
* Maintain statutory health records as per the Factories Act and applicable regulations.
* Investigate occupational illnesses and workplace incidents.
* Participate in workplace hazard identification and risk assessments.
* Ensure compliance with occupational health, EHS, and client-specific requirements.
Health Promotion
* Conduct health awareness sessions and wellness programs.
* Promote preventive healthcare initiatives including vaccination drives, ergonomics, lifestyle modification, and mental health awareness.
Documentation & Reporting
* Maintain accurate medical records while ensuring confidentiality.
* Prepare monthly OHC reports, illness/injury statistics, and management reports.
* Monitor medicine inventory and recommend procurement requirements.
Coordination
* Coordinate with HR, EHS, plant management, hospitals, diagnostic centers, and insurance providers.
* Support internal and external audits related to occupational health services.
Eligibility Criteria
* MBBS from a recognized medical college.
* AFIH (Associate Fellow of Industrial Health) certification is mandatory.
* Valid State Medical Council registration.
* 15 years of experience in Occupational Health/Factory Medical Services preferred.
Preferred Skills
* Knowledge of the Factories Act and Occupational Safety & Health regulations.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
* Valuable communication and documentation skills.
* Ability to handle medical emergencies independently.
* Proficiency in MS Office and electronic medical records.Role & responsibilities
