o Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure compliance. o Work closely with accounting teams to ensure seamless execution of monthly close processes and ongoing operational maintenance. o Prepare accurate financial reports (Balance Sheet, P&L;, Cash Flow) focusing on providing insights into financial performance and variances. o Conduct financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and areas for cost control or profitability improvement. Example: Conducting variance analysis to explain fluctuations in revenue or expenses. o Preparation of weekly cashflow and circulating various reports to the management.
2. Cross-Border Taxation & Compliance:
- Oversee the Goods and Services Tax (GST) filings for New Zealand and Australia (including GST returns, adjustments, and audits). o Manage New Zealand and Australia Income Tax obligations, including preparation and filing of Income Tax returns (IR4) and maintaining compliance with local tax laws.
3. General Ledger & Accounting Operations:
- Maintain and oversee the general ledger for US, Australia and New Zealand entities, ensuring proper recording and reconciliation of all transactions. o Manage journal entries including maintenance of recurring journal entries and allocations o Ensure that inter-company transactions between US, Australia and New Zealand are accurately recorded and reconciled.
4. Month-End/Year-End Closing:
o Supervise the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring accurate reporting for both US , Australia and New Zealand operations. This includes journal entries, accruals, depreciation, and tax provisions. o Coordinate with external auditors in New Zealand , Australia and US to facilitate timely and smooth audit processes.
5. Budgeting and Forecasting: o Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for the New Zealand and Australia entity, ensuring that financial projections align with both US, Australia and Recent Zealand standards and requirements. o Perform variance analysis to track performance against budget and suggest corrective actions. Example: Identifying unexpected fluctuations in expenses and working with the management team to address them.
6. Ad-Hoc Financial Support:
o Support the New Zealand and Australia finance team with any ad-hoc financial analysis or reporting requirements. o Identify opportunities of enhancements and implementations needed to streamline workflows or improve efficiencies o Preparation of various board decks. o Collaborating with business stakeholders outside of accounting o Assist in documenting internal processes/controls as well as developing improvements as appropriate o Provide insights for decision-making, offering financial recommendations based on data-driven analysis. o Performs other duties as assigned o Complies with all policies and standards
