Role Summary

The IT Configuration Management Administrator is responsible for administering and maintaining enterprise configuration management and availability monitoring platforms, specifically ServiceNow CMDB and Core6 Availability Guard.

This role ensures the accuracy, health, and completeness of configuration data while enabling proactive service visibility, incident response, and infrastructure reliability through effective tooling, integration, and governance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Core6 AvailabilityGuard Administration

- Administer and maintain the Core6 AvailabilityGuard platform
- Configure and manage AvailabilityGuard collectors to ensure accurate data collection across infrastructure environments
- Monitor system performance and ensure continuous availability and reliability monitoring coverage




- Manage and troubleshoot AvailabilityGuard platform issues and escalations Includes operating system knowledge - Windows Server and Linux

2. AvailabilityGuard Event & Ticket ManagementManage

- AvailabilityGuard-generated alerts and tickets Triage, assign, and route incidents to the appropriate infrastructure support teams (server, network, storage, etc.)
- Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of availability-related incidents
- Collaborate with operations teams to improve alert accuracy and reduce false positives
- Support continuous improvement of incident response and escalation processes

3. ServiceNow CMDB Administration

- Administer and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB, including CI classes, relationships, and data structure
- Ensure CMDB alignment with enterprise standards and configuration management policies
- Maintain accurate and complete configuration item (CI) records across infrastructure environments
- Support data governance, reconciliation, and lifecycle management processes

4. CMDB Health & Data Quality Management

- Monitor and manage CMDB Health metrics (completeness, correctness, compliance)Identify and remediate data quality issues, including duplicates, orphaned records, and missing relationships
- Implement improvements to enhance data accuracy and audit readiness
- Develop reporting and dashboards to track CMDB performance and health trends

5. Discovery & Data Population

- Configure and manage ServiceNow Discovery to automatically identify and update Cis
- Ensure proper classification and relationship mapping of discovered assets
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data collection, credential access, and scan coverage
- Optimize discovery schedules and patterns for maximum data coverage and minimal performance impact
