Job Summary
The Contracts Manager shall be responsible for managing all contractual, commercial, and time-related entitlements of infrastructure projects executed under EPC and Hybrid Annuity (HAM) models. The role includes FIDIC-based correspondence, Extension of Time (EOT) management, Change of Scope (COS) working, and active pursuit with clients to safeguard and optimize project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer contracts under EPC and HAM frameworks from award to project closure.
- Interpret contracts including FIDIC Conditions, agreements, specifications, and drawings.
- Ensure compliance with contractual timelines, notice provisions, and procedures.
- Maintain contract registers, notices logs, variation registers, EOT trackers, and correspondence records.
- Extension of Time (EOT) Management
- Identify delay events and time-impacting issues at early stages of the project.
- Prepare, submit, and pursue Extension of Time (EOT) claims as per FIDIC and other standard contract provisions.
- Coordinate with project team for delay analysis and supporting documentation.
- Draft EOT notices, particulars, rebuttals, and negotiate determinations to mitigate LD exposure.
- FIDIC & Contractual Correspondence
- Draft, vet, and issue contractual letters, notices, replies, and submissions strictly in line with FIDIC.
- Handle correspondence related to delays, variations, instructions,
and contractual events.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and contractually sound communication with clients and consultants.
- Variations, Claims & COS Management
- Identify variations, additional scope, and Cost of Service (COS) items.
- Prepare and submit cost claims, COS proposals, and substantiations with supporting documents.
- Lead COS working including cost compilation, rate analysis, and backup justification.
- Actively pursue COS approvals and certifications with clients and authorities.
- Preparation of inputs for internal and external legal teams for arbitration and courts cases
- Commercial & Risk Support
- Coordinate with billing, planning, QS, and project teams for recovery and certification.
- Identify contractual and commercial risks and recommend mitigation measures.
- Support dispute avoidance and assist in dispute resolution processes as required.
- Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 1012 years of experience in contracts and commercial management in infrastructure projects.
- Hands-on experience in EPC and HAM and other large contracts
- Solid working knowledge of FIDIC Conditions of Contract
- Proven experience in EOT preparation, COS working, client coordination and claim management
- Desirable Experience
- Experience in NHAI projects.
- Exposure to port or marine infrastructure projects.
- Experience in tunnel or underground works.
- Interface with Authorities, Independent Engineers, and Consultants.
