Job Title: Project Manager / Engineering Project Lead (Japanese Language)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Engineering Project Lead with solid Japanese language proficiency (JLPT N2/N1 preferred) to lead software engineering projects involving cross-functional teams across India and Japan. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end project delivery, coordinate with Japanese stakeholders, and ensure successful execution of engineering initiatives while maintaining quality, timelines, and budget.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end software development and engineering projects.
- Act as the primary liaison between Japanese clients/business teams and offshore engineering teams.
- Gather business requirements and translate them into technical deliverables.
- Plan, monitor, and manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and resources.
- Conduct project status meetings with Japanese stakeholders.
- Coordinate with development, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and business teams.
- Manage project documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication in both Japanese and English.
- Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Identify project risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality standards.

Required Skills

- 8+ years of experience in IT Project Management or Engineering Leadership.




- Experience managing software development or digital transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating global teams across different time zones.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, or Confluence.

Japanese Language Requirements

- JLPT N2 or N1 certification preferred.
- Ability to communicate fluently with Japanese clients via meetings, emails, and documentation.
- Experience working with Japan-based customers or offshore delivery teams is highly preferred.

Preferred Technical Background

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following are preferred:

- Software Engineering (.NET, Java, Python, C++)
- Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- DevOps & CI/CD
- APIs & Microservices
- ERP/Manufacturing/Automotive domain exposure
- Digital Engineering or Product Development

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Certifications

- PMP / PRINCE2
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) / SAFe
- JLPT N2/N1
