Preferred candidate profile

- 7+ years working with Java in an enterprise environment
- Understanding of both functional and object-oriented programming paradigms
- Understanding of SOLID design principles
- Desire to innovate and discover new technologies
- Comfortable working with multiple programming languages at the same time
- Development and troubleshooting of complex SQL
- Understanding of REST principles
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Strong communications and presentation skills
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and works well in a team environment or as an independent contributor
- Ability to work with minimal supervision within a team environment
- Driven to continually learn and master recent skills
- Build and maintain stateful stream processing applications using Apache Flink
- Implement event ingestion and distribution using AWS Kinesis and SQS
- Design and implement for replay and reprocessing with idempotent data pipelines




- Contribute across the full delivery stack including application code, infrastructure (Terraform), CI/CD, and observability
- Manage distributed state using RocksDB as the Flink state backend
- Build monitoring and alerting around checkpoint health, backpressure, watermark lag, and consumer lag
- 2+ years working with Apache Flink, Kafka Streams, Spark Structured Streaming, or a comparable stateful stream processing framework
- Experience with event driven architecture and streaming data paradigms
- Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Kinesis, EKS, S3, RDS, and SQS
- Understanding of state management in distributed systems (checkpointing, exactly once semantics, keyed state)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform
