Fabrication Supervisor / Marking Engineer

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Fabrication Supervisor / Marking Engineer who can accurately interpret fabrication drawings and ensure that all fabrication work is carried out strictly according to the approved drawings and specifications. The candidate will be responsible for marking, supervising shop-floor activities, taking measurements, and ensuring error-free fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

- Read and understand fabrication, GA, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Perform accurate marking of plates and structural members as per approved drawings.
- Guide and supervise fabrication workers throughout the fabrication process.
- Remain on the shop floor and continuously monitor fabrication activities.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, fit-up, and tolerances at every stage of fabrication.
- Take accurate measurements using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Ensure all fabrication work is completed without dimensional or fabrication errors.
- Identify and rectify mistakes immediately before proceeding to the next stage.
- Coordinate with the Production, Quality, and Design teams to resolve drawing-related issues.
- Ensure fabrication is carried out as per approved drawings, WPS,



and quality requirements.
- Maintain records of inspections and completed work.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping in the fabrication area.

Required Skills:

- Solid ability to read and interpret fabrication and structural drawings.
- Good knowledge of plate marking, fit-up, welding, and fabrication processes.
- Proficiency in using measuring tools such as steel tape, Vernier caliper, spirit level, bevel gauge, and measuring squares.
- Good understanding of fabrication tolerances and dimensional control.
- Strong supervisory and communication skills.
- Ability to detect and prevent fabrication errors before work progresses.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Qualification:

- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in heavy fabrication, pressure vessels, structural fabrication, or similar industries.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

- Zero fabrication errors due to incorrect marking.
- Accurate dimensional control throughout fabrication.
- Timely completion of fabrication activities.
- Continuous supervision of shop-floor work.
- Compliance with quality and safety standards.
