Role & responsibilities

1. Technical Execution & High-Rise Specifics

- Deep Foundations & Basement: Supervise excavation, shoring, and dewatering activities. Oversee the installation of deep pile foundations or diaphragm walls, ensuring pile integrity tests (PIT) and load tests are conducted properly.
- Core Wall & Shear Wall Construction: Monitor the construction of the central core and shear walls, ensuring verticality alignment using Total Stations and plumb bobs for every floor.
- Slab & Formwork Cycles: Manage the rapid cycle of Mivan/Aluminum formwork or conventional shuttering. Ensure slab laying levels are precise and curing compounds are applied correctly to meet the cycle time (e.g., 7-day or 10-day slab cycle).
- Vertical Transportation: Coordinate the installation and protection of lift shafts (OTIS/KONE etc.) and ensure the machine room (or machine-room-less) specifications are met.
- Curtain Wall / Faade Interface: Liaise with the faade team to ensure embedment plates and anchors are cast accurately for the curtain wall installation.

2. Quality Control (High-Strength Materials)

- High-Performance Concrete: Supervise the pouring of high-grade concrete (M40, M50, M60) for columns and shear walls. Conduct strict slump tests and ensure proper vibration to avoid honeycombing.
- Reinforcement: Inspect the high-yield strength reinforcement (HYSD/TMT bars), especially in beam-column junctions, splice locations, and lapping zones as per seismic codes.
- Waterproofing: Oversee waterproofing of podiums, terraces, sunken slabs (bathrooms), and basement retaining walls to prevent leakagea critical issue in tall buildings.

3. Health,

Safety & Workplace (High-Rise Focus)

- Working at Heights: Enforce strict safety for work at heights, including the use of full-body harnesses, guardrails, and safety nets.
- Material Hoisting: Supervise the safe operation of tower cranes, material hoists (passenger/freight lifts), and concrete pumping operations.
- Edge Protection: Ensure proper edge protection is in place on all floor peripheries and openings to prevent falls.
- Dual Safety Focus: Manage safety for both structural work (fall hazards) and finishing work (fire hazards from welding/solvents).

4. Coordination & Logistics

- MEP Coordination: Closely coordinate with MEP engineers to ensure that sleeves, inserts, and embedments for plumbing, firefighting, and electrical conduits are placed before slab concreting to avoid post-construction chasing (cutting).
- Vertical Logistics: Plan the staggered delivery of materials (blocks, cement, steel) to specific floors without clogging the hoist or crane time.
- Finishing Management: Manage wet trades (plastering, tiling) and dry trades (partitioning) on upper floors while structural work continues on lower floors.

5. Documentation & Billing

- As-Built Drawings: Mark deviations and update as-built drawings,

specifically for floor-to-floor heights and column positions.
- Quantity Surveying: Calculate RA bills (Running Account) based on physical work completed at various floor levels.
- Inspection Requests: Generate RFIs (Request for Inspection) for critical high-rise elements like core wall reinforcement and slab concreting.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience: Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in building construction, with at least 3 completed high-rise project (G+15 or higher) preferred.

Expertise in handling Total Station for transferring coordinates and levels on upper floors.

- Deep understanding of formwork systems (Aluform, Mivan, Doka, or Cup-lock shuttering).
- Knowledge of high-strength concrete mix designs and admixtures.
- Ability to read and interpret Structural, Architectural, and MEP shop drawings simultaneously to detect clashes.
- Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6 is a significant advantage for tracking floor cycles.

Key Competencies

- Height Confidence: Must be comfortable working at significant heights and supervising activities on open floors.
- Crisis Management: Ability to handle technical issues like concrete pump blockages, crane breakdowns, or formwork failures quickly.
- Multi-tasking: Ability to manage multiple trades working in the same zone (e.g., plumbers, electricians, and masons working together on a floor).

Work Environment

- 100% site-based within a high-rise construction zone.
- Significant time spent on upper floors, exposed to weather elements.
- Extended working hours are common to maintain slab cycle targets.
