Job Summary The Level-2 Application Support Engineer will be responsible for providing end-to-end support for Bharat Bill Pay (BBPS) Online and Offline applications. The role involves monitoring, managing, and supporting applications operating in a 24x7 mission-critical production environment. The candidate will collaborate closely with Database, Infrastructure, Operations, and external stakeholders, including Banks and Non-Banking Financial Institutions, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery. The primary objective of this role is to maintain near-100% application uptime through effective proactive and reactive maintenance. The position requires an individual contributor with solid problem-solving skills, the ability to learn quickly, and the capability to perform effectively in a high-availability environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify, analyze, and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
- Perform proactive and reactive application maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot production incidents efficiently with minimal impact on business.
- Deploy application patches and production builds in coordination with relevant teams.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for investigation and issue resolution.
- Perform bug fixes and support development teams in stabilizing applications.
- Conduct application sizing and performance assessments.
- Predict and prevent potential production incidents.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and continuously refine them where required.
- Ensure compliance with security access control policies.
- Work in a 24x7 zero-downtime application support environment.
- Perform Disaster Recovery (DR)



drills to ensure application resilience.
- Seamlessly manage and maintain production applications.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and prepare RCA reports for production issues.
- Monitor application logs and analyze trends to prevent recurring incidents.
- Automate operational and monitoring tasks using shell scripting where applicable.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for incident resolution and service restoration.

Mandatory Skills

- Core Java and Advanced Java
- Strong production issue debugging skills
- Unix / Linux operating systems
- SQL querying and database troubleshooting
- Incident management process knowledge
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Hands-on experience in 24x7 production application support
- Knowledge of AI tools is mandatory
