ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR DESIGN AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT-HO-HYD

Position: Draftsmen-Piping:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

1. Total Experience

- Draftsman: 3 -5 years of relevant experience.

2. Domain Experience

- Must have worked in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, Chemical plants, Power, or similar industries.
- Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) workplace is essential.
- Hands-on experience in Piping Layouts, Equipment Layouts, Isometrics, and Support Drawings.

3. Software Skills
Candidates should have strong command in at least two or more of the following:

Draftsman Level

- AutoCAD (2D drafting)
- Basic knowledge of 3D modelling soft wares (PDMS / E3D / PDS / SP3D preferred)

Senior Draftsman Level

Proficiency in:

- AutoCAD (advanced)
- Navisworks (model review, clash checks)

- Experience in extraction and checking of isometrics, GA drawings, and material take-offs (MTOs).

4. Technical Experience
Draftsman

- 2D drafting of piping layouts, equipment layouts, platform layouts.




- Preparation of isometric drawings as guided by engineers.
- Preparation of MTOs and bills of materials.
- Ability to read and understand P&IDs; and equipment drawings.

5. Standards & Codes Knowledge

- Knowledge of piping design and drafting practices as per:
- ASME B31.3, B31.1
- API, ASTM standards

- Familiarity with company / client drafting standards.

6. Project Experience

- Preparation and updating of drawings through various project phases:
- Basic Engineering
- Detailed Engineering

- Experience in brownfield and greenfield projects (preferred for Senior Draftsman).

7. Other Requirements

- Ability to interpret engineering documents: P&IDs;, PMS, line list, equipment GA drawings.
- Good coordination skills with engineers and other disciplines.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple deliverables.
- Exposure to vendor drawings and interface requirements.
