We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test solutions across UI, API, and backend systems. The ideal candidate will have strong Java programming skills, hands-on experience with Java-based test automation frameworks, API testing, database validation, and SQL.

The SDET will work closely with cross-functional teams to translate user stories into comprehensive test cases and end-to-end business scenarios, track defects through closure, and ensure quality, process compliance, and risk mitigation throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, maintain, and implement test cases based on user stories and business requirements.
- Develop comprehensive end-to-end business scenarios based on a strong understanding of business objectives and product functionality.
- Develop and maintain Java-based automation scripts for UI, API, and backend testing.
- Apply Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and automation best practices to develop scalable and maintainable test frameworks.
- Perform UI automation testing using frameworks such as Selenium with TestNG or JUnit.
- Perform API testing using Rest Assured.
- Conduct database validation and backend testing using JDBC/JPA.
- Write, execute, and optimize complex SQL queries for data validation and testing.
- Validate data across relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, and Snowflake.
- Track test execution progress and milestones and report issues, risks, and dependencies that may impact project timelines.
- Identify, document, track, and supervise defects through resolution and closure.
- Develop a detailed understanding of the product, business processes, and delivered functionality.
- Ensure adherence to defined QA processes, standards, and compliance requirements.
- Maintain appropriate testing documentation and associated project records.




- Align risk and control processes with day-to-day responsibilities to identify, monitor, and mitigate potential risks.
- Collaborate effectively with developers, QA engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders.

Required Technical Skills

Java Programming

Strong proficiency in Java, including:

- Collections Framework
- Exception Handling
- Streams and Lambda Expressions
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles

Test Automation

Hands-on experience with Java-based automation frameworks, including one or more of the following:

- Selenium
- TestNG
- JUnit

API and Backend Testing

- Rest Assured for API automation and testing
- JDBC and/or JPA for database validation and backend testing

Database and SQL

- Strong SQL skills, including writing and optimizing complex queries
- Experience with relational databases such as:
- Oracle
- DB2
- Snowflake

Build and Dependency Management

- Maven and/or Gradle
- Dependency management

Required Qualifications

- Solid proficiency in Java programming.
- Hands-on experience with Java-based test automation frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, or JUnit.
- Experience with API testing using Rest Assured.
- Experience with database testing and validation using JDBC and/or JPA.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience with Maven and/or Gradle.
- Strong understanding of OOP concepts and automation best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively in a distributed team environment.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Experience working in an enterprise software development or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end QA processes and defect lifecycle management.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Work Arrangement

- Contract Period: Remote India
- Upon Full-Time Conversion: Hybrid Hyderabad, Telangana
