Roles & Responsibilities Work at Height Expert
- Ensure safe planning, execution, and monitoring of all work at height activities in accordance with statutory regulations, client specifications, and company HSE procedures.
- Review and authorize Work at Height Permits, HIRA, JSA, Method Statements, and Rescue Plans before commencement of work.
- Inspect and verify scaffolds, ladders, mobile elevated work platforms (MEWP), lifelines, anchor points, and fall protection systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor high-risk work at height activities, ensuring the proper use of full-body harnesses, lanyards, fall arrest systems, and other personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct routine inspections of work areas to identify hazards, implement corrective actions, and prevent fall-related incidents.
- Deliver Work at Height induction training, toolbox talks, and competency assessments for employees, contractors, and supervisors.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and rescue arrangements, including mock drills for work at height operations.
- Investigate work at height incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain records of inspections, permits, training, rescue equipment, and compliance reports, and submit periodic updates to management.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, client requirements, and applicable national and international Work at Height safety standards while promoting a solid safety culture across the project.
Education
- Diploma/B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
Preferred Certifications
- Work at Height Competency Certification
- IRATA / SPRAT (Rope Access)
- OSHA / NEBOSH / IOSH
