Role & responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies across the hospital.
- Conduct surveillance of Hospital-Acquired Infections (HAIs) and prepare regular infection control reports.
- Perform infection control audits and ensure compliance with NABH and statutory guidelines.
- Monitor hand hygiene practices, PPE compliance, sterilization, disinfection, and biomedical waste management.
- Investigate infection outbreaks and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Conduct orientation and regular training programmes for clinical and non-clinical staff on infection prevention practices.
- Coordinate with microbiology, nursing, housekeeping, CSSD, and other departments to strengthen infection control measures.
- Maintain infection control documentation, audit records, and quality indicators.
- Participate in Infection Control Committee meetings and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Preferred candidate profile
- B.Sc. Nursing / P.B.B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Valid Nursing Council Registration.
- Minimum 25 years of hospital experience, preferably in Infection Control, ICU, OT, or Quality.
- Certification or formal training in Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of NABH standards, biomedical waste management, HAI surveillance, and infection control protocols.
- Solid communication, analytical, documentation, and training skills
