GM- PROJECTS PROFILE

Position Purpose

To lead and manage all project execution activities of the Company and ensure that every project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, in accordance with contractual requirements, and at the expected quality standards while maximizing project profitability.

Role Objective

The Head of Project Operations shall be responsible for the successful execution of all ongoing and future projects. The role is accountable for operational excellence, resource utilization, technical leadership, client satisfaction during execution, and achievement of project profitability Role & responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution

- Lead execution of all company projects.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Review project progress regularly.
- Remove execution bottlenecks.
- Monitor daily site performance.

2. Construction Management

- Finalize execution methodology.
- Review temporary works.
- Approve construction sequence.
- Ensure optimum utilization of resources.

3. Project Leadership

- Lead all Project Managers.
- Conduct project review meetings.
- Build accountability.

Mentor project leadership teams

4. Productivity & Performance

- Improve labour productivity.
- Improve machinery utilization.
- Reduce idle resources.
- Improve execution efficiency.

5. Technical Leadership

- Solve technical challenges.
- Coordinate with design consultants.
- Recommend innovative construction methods.
- Ensure engineering compliance.

6. Client Management (Execution)

- Attend client meetings.
- Resolve execution issues.
- Maintain healthy client relationships during project execution.

7. Resource Management





- Coordinate manpower deployment.
- Coordinate machinery deployment.
- Coordinate subcontractor deployment.

8. Quality

- Ensure quality compliance.
- Review NCRs.
- Improve workmanship standards.

9. Safety

- Promote safe execution.
- Review major incidents.
- Ensure statutory compliance.

10. Profitability

- Monitor project costs.
- Improve project margins.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Minimize wastage.

Authority

- Direct all project teams.
- Allocate resources between projects.
- Approve execution methodology.
- Conduct operational reviews.
- Recommend staffing changes.
- Escalate contractual or commercial risks.

Preferred candidate profile

- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (M.E./M.Tech or MBA will be an added advantage)
- Experience: 20+ years in Civil & Infrastructure Industry with at least 810 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven experience in executing Roads, Highways, Bridges, Marine, Industrial, Railway and EPC Infrastructure Projects.
- Robust expertise in project execution, construction management, planning, billing, contract
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in project costing, productivity improvement, risk management and margin enhancement.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, client relationship management and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation and team-building skills with a results-oriented leadership approach.
