Position: ITI Electrician

Reports To: Engineering Manager / Maintenance Head

Job Summary

The ITI Electrician shall be responsible for carrying out preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance of all electrical systems, machinery, utilities, and supporting electronic and networking infrastructure within the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. The incumbent shall ensure uninterrupted operations while maintaining compliance with WHO-GMP, safety regulations, and company SOPs.

Key Responsibilities

A. Electrical Maintenance

- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance of all electrical installations.
- Installation, testing, repair and maintenance of:
- LT Panels
- MCC Panels
- Distribution Boards
- Power Panels
- Lighting Systems
- Earthing Systems
- Electrical Cabling

- Perform wiring, cable termination and panel dressing.
- Maintain electrical motors, pumps, blowers, exhaust systems and compressors.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults in production and utility equipment.
- Ensure proper functioning of DG Set electrical systems.
- Maintain UPS systems and battery banks.
- Maintain emergency lighting and power backup systems.
- Monitor electrical load distribution and power consumption.

B. Pharmaceutical Equipment Support

Attend electrical maintenance of:

- Tablet Compression Machines
- Granulation Equipment
- Rapid Mixer Granulator (RMG)
- Fluid Bed Dryer (FBD)
- Multi Mill
- Coating Machine
- Blister Packing Machines
- Strip Packing Machines
- Capsule Filling Machines
- Water Treatment Plant
- Air Compressors
- HVAC Systems
- AHUs
- Chillers
- Dust Extraction Systems
- Material Lifts
- Utility Equipment

C. Electronics Maintenance

Knowledge of electronics is essential for:

- Sensors
- PLC Inputs/Outputs
- Proximity Sensors
- Limit Switches
- Solenoid Valves
- Temperature Controllers
- PID Controllers
- Timers
- Relays
- SMPS
- VFD (Variable Frequency Drives)




- HMI Panels
- Electronic PCB fault identification
- Machine control circuits

Ability to coordinate with OEM engineers during troubleshooting.

D. Networking & IT Support

Basic knowledge of networking including:

- LAN cable crimping (RJ45)
- Network switch installation
- Router configuration (basic)
- Wi-Fi Access Points
- Internet troubleshooting
- CCTV Network
- IP Camera Installation
- NVR/DVR Systems
- Printer connectivity
- Desktop and laptop hardware support
- Barcode Printer setup
- Scanner installation
- Attendance Machine connectivity
- ERP Terminal network connectivity

Assist IT team whenever required.

E. Preventive Maintenance

- Execute preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain maintenance checklists.
- Lubrication and inspection of electrical components.
- Calibration support wherever required.
- Ensure minimum machine downtime.

F. Documentation

Maintain proper records of:

- Preventive Maintenance
- Breakdown Reports
- Electrical Log Books
- Daily Maintenance Reports
- Spare Parts Consumption
- Electrical Load Records
- Equipment History Cards

Ensure documentation complies with WHO-GMP requirements.

G. Safety & GMP

- Follow all Electrical Safety Rules.
- Ensure Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Wear proper PPE.
- Maintain housekeeping in electrical rooms.
- Follow GMP, GDP and Safety SOPs.
- Ensure no unsafe electrical practices.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.

Additional Responsibilities

- Attend emergency electrical breakdowns at any time.
- Coordinate with Production, QA and Engineering departments.




- Assist during audits and regulatory inspections.
- Supervise contractors during electrical jobs.
- Suggest energy-saving initiatives.
- Maintain electrical spare inventory.
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery.
- Perform any other work assigned by Management.

Required Qualifications

- ITI in Electrician Trade (NCVT/SCVT)
- Wireman License (Preferred)
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Preferred)

Experience

- 25 years in a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant preferred.
- Fresh candidates with excellent technical knowledge may also be considered.

Working Conditions

- Based at the manufacturing plant.
- May be required to work in shifts and on holidays.
- Must be available for emergency breakdown maintenance.
- Work involves production areas, utility sections, warehouse, QC, QA, office premises, and external electrical installations.
