Job Description: Corporate EHS Head

Location: Padra (Base Location)
Role: Group EHS Head Corporate Oversight for Formulations, API & R&D; Sites

Grade: GM or equivalent Level.

Position Overview

The Corporate EHS Head will lead and oversee the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) function across all manufacturing and R&D; sites (Formulations, API, and R&D;). While based at the Padra site, this role will function as the Group EHS Head, responsible for defining, implementing, and monitoring EHS standards, ensuring compliance with Indian and international regulatory requirements, and driving a culture of safety across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

- Develop and drive a Group-wide EHS strategy, policies, and frameworks aligned with global best practices and company objectives.
- Ensure standardization and harmonization of EHS processes across all sites (Formulation, API, and R&D;).
- Champion a strong safety-first culture through training, awareness, and behavioral safety initiatives.

Regulatory Compliance & Audits

- Ensure compliance with national (Gujarat Factories Act, GPCB, MoEF, etc.) and international regulatory requirements.
- Lead EHS preparedness and participate in audits by USFDA, EU, WHO, MHRA, and other regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated with latest EHS norms, certifications, and global benchmarks (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, etc.) and ensure implementation across the group.

Operational Excellence

- Conduct risk assessments, hazard analysis, and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Drive incident investigation, root cause analysis, and ensure timely closure of findings.
- Oversee waste management, effluent treatment, and emission control in line with environmental guidelines.
- Strengthen emergency response plans and ensure readiness across all sites.

Certifications & Continuous Improvement





- Spearhead the implementation and maintenance of ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health & Safety Management) and ISO 14001:2015 (Environmental Management).
- Introduce latest global safety practices (LOTO, Behavior Based Safety, Process Safety Management, etc.).
- Benchmark EHS performance against industry leaders and continuously improve performance metrics.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

- Lead, mentor, and develop EHS teams at individual sites ensuring alignment with corporate EHS objectives.
- Collaborate closely with Operations, QA, HR, Engineering, and Regulatory Affairs to integrate EHS into all business activities.
- Represent the company with external stakeholders, auditors, and government authorities on all EHS-related matters.

Desired Candidate Profile

- Qualification: B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Environment, Chemical, Safety Engineering or related field. Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 15+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Formulations & API exposure is must).
- Proven track record of handling USFDA and other international regulatory audits.
- Strong exposure to EHS certifications (ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OHSAS, etc.) and implementation of latest safety management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to strategize at the corporate level and execute at the site level with strong hands-on involvement.
