About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic, results driven professional responsible for driving end to end verification, who is passionate about industrial embedded product feature testing in RD product development environment. In this role, you will contribute to the verification and validation of metering products which includes advanced communication protocols in the energy management domain. As a key representative of Integration / Verification / Validation, you will:

Role Responsibilities

- Define or contribute to test specification/ test plans and test strategies (unit / integration, system and Regression Test)
- Analyse test results with scrum teams and provide inputs for development team
- Contribute to identifying and resolving firmware-related issues, ensuring the smooth operation of our products throughout their lifecycle
- Collaborate with the firmware development team to define comprehensive test strategies that cover functional, performance, and reliability aspects of the firmware
- Define, develop and execute test cases across various stages of the product development life cycle which includes functional testing, integration, system and regression testing for Metering Product
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts to optimize testing efficiency and enhance test coverage, with a focus on automated system firmware testing
- Perform thorough regression testing to ensure new Firmware changes do not introduce defects into existing functionalities
- Implement robust verification frameworks to identify and analyse defects while meeting functional, security, and real-time performance requirements
- Collaborate closely with development teams to optimize testing processes, focusing on seamless hardware-software integration and adherence to industry standards
- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) on product quality and field issues
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks and resolve roadblocks
- Design, implement, and test current products, as well as improve existing products




- Analyse test results, identify defects, and work with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Identify, investigate, and report firmware defects using issue tracking systems, such as JIRA, and proficiently manage the end-to-end defect lifecycle
- Continuously research and explore emerging testing methodologies, tools, and technologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of firmware verification and validation processes
- Perform validation of communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet, BLE, WiFi, Zigbee)

Requirements

- Lead test execution (functional, system, integration, regression)
- Drive automation strategy and improve coverage efficiency
- Develop and implement test automation tools and scripting (LabVIEW, Python, Robot Framework)
- Manage defect lifecycle including triage, tracking, and closure
- Ensure high-quality delivery through risk analysis and coverage optimization
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring
- Proven experience in firmware verification and validation in embedded systems - Metering Products
- Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, V model, and Agile practices
- Knowledge on Metrology Standard and Compliance
- Experience with test management tools (Azure DevOps, JAMA, JIRA)
- Hands on experience in operation of 3-Phase sources like MTE, Fluke, Omicron independently
- Basic knowledge in cyber security testing

Qualifications

- Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Power Systems
- 8-12 years of working experience in Embedded Firmware Verification in Power metering domain / Energy management System
