ABOUT THE ROLE

A circular knit fabric manufacturer with Asia wide operations is seeking a Project Director / Project Manager to serve as the technical and commercial bridge between its overseas headquarters and India manufacturing plant in Karnataka. The role covers the full Asian apparel supply chain managing garment manufacturer relationships, interfacing with global brand liaison offices, and providing on-ground technical support at the India plant.

This is not a back-office role. The successful candidate will spend significant time in office at manufacturing facilities, in brand offices, and at trade events across Asia. Strong technical fabric knowledge combined with commercial relationship management is essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Manufacturer & Supply Chain Relationships

- Maintain ongoing relationships with apparel manufacturers across Asia covering fabric development, sample approvals, and production follow-up
- Act as primary point of contact for garment factories on fabric specifications, timelines, and quality expectations
- Coordinate between overseas HQ and India JV plant to align on development and production milestones

2. Brand Liaison Office Interface

- Visit and coordinate with brand liaison offices of global sportswear and apparel brands for technical discussions, performance requirements, and development updates
- Present fabric capabilities, development updates, and compliance documentation at brand technical reviews
- Stay current with brand testing protocols, sustainability requirements, and material approval processes

3. On-Site Technical Support India Plant

- Provide hands-on technical support at the Karnataka manufacturing plant covering circular knitting, dyeing, finishing, and quality control




- Assist development teams with fabric selection, quality expectation-setting, and bulk production readiness

4. Market Representation & Reporting

- Represent the organisation at customer meetings, factory visits, and trade events across Asia
- Prepare structured reports on market conditions, customer feedback, development trends, and competitor activity for internal leadership
- Maintain accurate records of fabric approvals, testing outcomes, and development timelines across active projects

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Essential Experience

- 7–10 years of experience in textiles, fabric development, or apparel manufacturing — sportswear and activewear is a solid advantage
- Deep technical knowledge of circular knitting, synthetic performance fabrics, dyeing and finishing processes, and quality control standards
- Demonstrated experience working with or for global apparel brands — Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, PVH, Columbia Sportswear, or equivalent
- Existing network among Asian garment manufacturers across India, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, or Cambodia
- Ability to travel frequently within Asia; currently based in Asia or willing to relocate to India

Skills & Competencies

- Confident communicator with technical teams, garment factory operations, and brand office representatives
- Relationship-oriented with a proactive, problem-solving approach to cross-cultural collaboration
- Structured and detail-oriented in reporting, documentation, and project tracking
