Purpose/Objective

The Shift-Engineer - Cluster - Wafer - I&W; Production manages and optimize silicon wafer production operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards, maximizing efficiency, and leading a team to achieve production targets in the I&W; (Ingot and Wafer) Production sector of the solar industry.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Safety and Compliance : - Ensure continuous safety communication and training, achieving full adherence to safety interactions, timely closure of safety observations, and maintaining a zero fatality rate through strict protocols and ongoing risk assessments.
Production Management: - Achieve monthly and daily shift production targets, ensuring efficient operations and optimal resource utilization.
Increase Yield % of Each Machine: - Implement strategies to achieve the yield targets and enhance yield rates across wafer production machines.
Cost Control: - Control production costs (materials and manpower) within the budget by minimizing excess material consumption and optimizing processes, ensuring actual consumption aligns with the planned BOM.
Quality Assurance: - Implements and maintains quality controls to ensure silicon wafers meet specifications and standards.
Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) & Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA): - Analyze production issues, prepare RCA reports, and implement CAPA to prevent recurrence.
Maintain 5S of Each Machine: - Uphold and promote a clean, organized, and effective workspace using 5S principles.




Training and Development: - Train associates in wafer production processes, safety protocols, and operational best practices to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality output.
Data Analysis and Reporting: - Analyzes production data to monitor performance and communicates key metrics to management.
Bill of material (BOM) Tracking: - Knowledge of BOM and tracking of consumption of BOM Material on shift basis.
Key Stakeholders - Internal: - Cluster Managers - I&W; Production - Technicians and Operators within I&W; Production - Maintenance Supervisors Key Stakeholders - External: - Equipment Suppliers - Maintenance Contractors - Regulatory Authorities

Educational Qualification: - B.
Tech/ Diploma – Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Chemical - Desired Qualification : BE/Btech Work Experience (Range of years): - Min 2 - 5 years of experience in managing semiconductor or solar wafer production, focusing on process validation, yield improvement, and quality control.
