Purpose of the Position

To provide end-to-end support for cell manufacturing operations and ensure achievement of production, quality, safety, and cost targets. The incumbent will be responsible for driving operational excellence through production planning, process improvements, manpower management, equipment efficiency enhancement, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to maximize throughput, yield, and overall plant performance.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations Management

- Ensure proper manpower planning and deployment for smooth, safe, and productive production operations.
- Achieve daily, shift-wise, and monthly production targets in line with Annual Business Plan (ABP) requirements.
- Review previous shift performance, identify gaps, and implement corrective actions to ensure uninterrupted operations.
- Monitor and improve production throughput, yield, and process stability.
- Make critical operational decisions to maintain continuous production and resolve shop floor issues.

Process Improvement & Performance Enhancement

- Collaborate with Process and Quality teams to implement new and improved manufacturing processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on:
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
- Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Line Balancing
- Work Study
- Process Automation
- Cost Reduction Programs

- Lead developmental projects including Green Belt/Black Belt initiatives to enhance tool and line performance.
- Ensure achievement of annual targets related to BOM consumption, OPEX reduction, productivity improvement, and quality enhancement.

Equipment & Maintenance Management

- Work closely with the Maintenance team to minimize equipment breakdowns and maximize machine uptime.
- Monitor and improve machine reliability indicators such as OEE, MTBF, and uptime.
- Lead the PECVD Cluster operations for MSPVL Cell Lines and drive performance improvement through:
- Safety compliance
- Boat management
- Cost optimization
- Productivity enhancement





- Handle emergency situations related to Wet Line and Cell Line equipment operations.

Chemical & Safety Management

- Ensure safe handling, draining, treatment, and distribution of chemicals as per established procedures.
- Manage Chemical Distribution System operations ensuring compliance with EHS and safety standards.
- Conduct regular training programs on chemical handling, safety practices, and emergency response.
- Take immediate corrective actions against unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, or unethical practices on the shop floor.

Quality & Compliance

- Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and relevant standards including:
- ISO 9001
- ISO 14001
- OHSAS 18001
- IEC 61215
- STQC
- JET
- JIS

- Maintain adherence to product quality requirements and manufacturing process specifications.
- Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions arising from audits and quality reviews.

Inventory & Resource Management

- Conduct monthly WIP and shop-floor inventory analysis and implement corrective measures.
- Ensure effective resource allocation for uninterrupted production operations.
- Manage shop-floor consumables and optimize inventory levels.

People Management

- Lead, motivate, and develop production teams to achieve operational excellence.
- Conduct manpower selection, training, and skill development programs for associates and operators.
- Address employee grievances and maintain discipline on the shop floor.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

- Drive implementation of TQM practices, including:
- 5S
- 3M
- Just-In-Time (JIT)
- Suggestion Schemes
- OEE
- TPM
- SMED

- Establish benchmarks for automation, productivity, and operational excellence.

Experience Requirements

- Hands-on experience in Cell Manufacturing operations, particularly Wet Chemistry Lines and Chemical Distribution Systems.
- Exposure to wafer handling and solar cell manufacturing processes.
- Experience in managing Wet Line and Cell Line tools during emergency situations.
- Proven experience in process improvement and developmental projects focused on tool and line performance.
- Experience in large-scale solar cell manufacturing operations preferred.
