Role & responsibilities

Read and interpret mechanical, manufacturing, assembly, and fabrication drawings.

- Prepare and revise engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
- Develop and modify manufacturing layouts, workstation layouts, and production line layouts.
- Perform cycle time studies, time studies, line balancing, and productivity improvement activities.
- Design and optimize workstations based on ergonomic and lean manufacturing principles.
- Prepare tool drawings, fixture drawings, jigs, gauges, and manufacturing aids.
- Design and modify mandrels, shaft coupling arrangements, winding tools, and coil shop tooling as per production requirements.
- Support the design and development of assembly fixtures, inspection fixtures, and production tooling.
- Assist in process planning, routing, and standard operating procedure (SOP) preparation.
- Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, design, and procurement teams.
- Monitor shop floor activities and support continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Conduct material take-off (MTO), quantity estimation, and documentation as required.
- Prepare engineering reports, BOMs, production documentation, and as-built drawings.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, manufacturing specifications, and safety procedures.
- Support new product development, brownfield modifications, and greenfield manufacturing projects

Required Skills

- Valuable knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial engineering, and mechanical assembly.
- Understanding of cycle time analysis, workstation design, line balancing, and layout optimization.
- Knowledge of jigs, fixtures,



tooling, mandrels, shaft coupling assemblies, and coil winding tools.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and engineering specifications.
- Good communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work in manufacturing plants and project sites.

Preferred Software Knowledge

- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
- Microsoft Excel
- MS Project (Preferred)
