The Technical Leader, Manufacturing Engineering (General Assembly) is responsible for leading manufacturing engineering activities related to the vehicle or product general assembly process. The role focuses on developing and optimizing assembly processes, improving productivity, ensuring product quality, and supporting new product introductions (NPI). Working closely with Production, Quality, Product Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain, the Technical Leader ensures manufacturing operations achieve safety, quality, cost, and delivery (SQCD) objectives.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development and continuous improvement of general assembly manufacturing processes.
- Design and optimize assembly workflows, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Support recent product introductions (NPI), pilot builds, and mass production launches.
- Develop and validate assembly process documentation, including PFMEA, process flow diagrams, control plans, and standard work.
- Identify and implement productivity, cost reduction, and cycle time improvement initiatives.
- Drive process capability improvements through Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Analyze manufacturing issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, process validation, and production readiness.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering to improve product manufacturability (DFM/DFA).
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and manufacturing best practices.
- Support automation, poka-yoke implementation, ergonomic improvements, and digital manufacturing initiatives.
- Monitor production KPIs and implement actions to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), first-pass yield, and throughput.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to manufacturing engineers and production teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 710 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, with at least 3 years in General Assembly or automotive manufacturing.
- Experience supporting vehicle assembly, EV manufacturing, or complex manufacturing operations is preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, Lean Manufacturing, or Project Management certification is an added advantage.
