Role & responsibilities

Material Planning

- Assist in calculating raw material and component requirements based on BOM and production schedules.
- Generate Purchase Requisitions (PRs) in ERP/MRP systems for timely procurement.
- Track material consumption and availability to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely supply of materials.

Production Planning

- Support the development of daily/weekly/monthly production plans based on sales orders and forecasts.
- Assist in aligning production plans with availability of Manpower, Materials, Machines, and Methods (4Ms).
- Help monitor progress against production schedules and escalate any delays or resource constraints.
- Update planning data in ERP/MRP systems under supervision.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with Production, Quality, Procurement, Warehouse, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth execution of plans.
- Participate in daily planning or production meetings to gather updates and share planning inputs.
- Assist in resolving basic coordination issues related to materials, capacity, or process bottlenecks.

Reporting & Documentation





- Maintain records of planning data, material movements, and order status.
- Prepare simple reports for inventory, material planning status, and production adherence.

Preferred candidate profile

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory. A Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering is preferred but not essential.

- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in material planning, inventory control, or supply chain management within a manufacturing industry.
- Basic understanding of supply chain or manufacturing processes (internship/project experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems is an advantage (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proficient in MS Excel and basic data analysis.
- Solid communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
