Barbil

1. Position Overview

As an IT & OT Infrastructure Lead, position is to serve as the critical strategic bridge between traditional IT ecosystems and real-time mine-site Operational Technology (OT). Operating in a rugged, heavy-machinery environment, you will engineer, integrate, and secure the ruggedized networks that connect edge asset data from the mine face directly to enterprise analytics. Your mission is to eliminate technical silos, transforming raw machine telemetry into actionable operational intelligence that directly elevates site safety, asset lifecycle efficiency, and data-driven production yields.

2. Key Responsibilities

IT/OT Infrastructure & Networking

- Converged Architecture: Design, deploy, and maintain robust, high-availability IT and OT infrastructure across offices and active mining sites, ensuring seamless data flow between business layers and industrial environments.
- Industrial Networking: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot hardened site network infrastructure, including industrial Ethernet, wireless mesh systems, LTE/private 5G networks, and ruggedized edge switches.
- Cybersecurity Defense: Enforce strict network segmentation, firewall configurations, and access controls between IT and OT layers to safeguard critical assets against cyber threats, adhering strictly to industrial security standards.
- Hardware Lifecycle: Oversee the deployment and lifecycle management of ruggedized computing hardware, edge gateways, servers, and telemetry units engineered to withstand extreme vibrations, dust, and temperature fluctuations.

Mining Systems & Fleet Management

- Edge Data Extraction: Interface directly with heavy machinery electronic control units (ECUs) using CANBUS and related industrial protocols (J1939, Modbus) to extract real-time engine diagnostics and operational telemetry.

- Fleet & Logistics Management: Manage and optimize the site's Fleet Management System (FMS) and Logistics Management Systems to maximize equipment utilization, dispatch efficiency, and material tracking accuracy.
- Fuel & Driver Safety Systems: Supervise the technical implementation and health of Fuel Management Systems and Driver Management / Behavior Monitoring Systems (such as fatigue detection and collision avoidance platforms).
- Vendor Calibration: Collaborate with heavy equipment OEMs and third-party technology providers to ensure specialized hardware integrations maintain data integrity without voiding machine warranties.

Project Implementation & Integration

- End-to-Step Delivery: Lead capital projects from scoping and architecture design through to field commissioning, ensuring IT-OT integration deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to spec.
- Data Emulsion & Pipelines: Architect and maintain the integration pipelines that ingest edge machine data, normalize it across varying protocols, and push it securely to enterprise ERPs or cloud-based analytics dashboards.
- Change Management & Governance: Standardize documentation for all integrated systems, topology maps, and configurations while establishing clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) for site-level technical troubleshooting.

3. Candidate Requirements

Education

- Required: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent (Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical,

Instrumentation, or a closely related quantitative engineering discipline).

4. Experience & Technical Skills

- Industry Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of progressive experience managing infrastructure within a rugged, heavy-industrial, manufacturing, or mining environment.
- Proven Integration Track Record: Demonstrated success leading at least two major end-to-end integration projects where field-level OT data was successfully linked to enterprise IT systems.
- Protocol & Telemetry Expertise: Expert-level understanding of CANBUS architecture, J1939, and industrial communication protocols, paired with a solid grasp of enterprise networking topologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing).
- Systems Familiarity: Deep hands-on experience troubleshooting and managing specialized industrial systems including Fleet Management (FMS), automated fuel dispensing networks, and driver telemetry setups.
- Success completed at least two major end-to-end integration projects where field-level OT data was successfully linked to enterprise IT systems

5. Required & Preferred Certifications

The ideal candidate must hold valid credentials spanning both corporate and industrial network operations:

- Enterprise IT Infrastructure (Minimum of one required):
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
- ITIL Foundation or higher (IT Service Management)
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent enterprise security framework certification
- Industrial OT Systems (Minimum of one required):
- ISA/IEC 62443 Cybersecurity Specialist certifications
- Global Industrial Cyber Security Qualified (GICSP)
- Cisco/Rockwell Automation Managing Industrial Networks for Manufacturing with Cisco Technologies (IMINS)
