Given the scale and importance of this effort to move from Azure pipelines to GitHub action, we are recommending bringing in a very seasoned engineer with deep, hands-on experience in GitHub Actions , sClientifically someone who has:
- Designed enterprise-scale CI/CD platforms using GitHub Actions
- Implemented OIDC-based, secretless authentication to Azure
- Integrated Azure Key Vault into deployment workflows at scale
- Supported hybrid deployment models (Azure + onprem)
- Created low-friction, reusable CD abstractions (shared workflows, identity patterns, governance models)
The goal of this role would not be day-to-day pipeline conversion, but rather to:
- Define transparent, scalable CD and identity reference architectures
- Establish consistent, least-privilege secret management practices
- Reduce friction for application teams
- De-risk the migration of thousands of pipelines
- Avoid long-term technical debt and support burden
