Job Summary:

The Senior MEP Engineer is responsible for leading the planning, design coordination, execution, and delivery of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in construction projects. The role involves managing site activities, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of all MEP works.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning & Coordination

- Review and interpret MEP drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with civil, architectural, and structural teams.
- Ensure proper planning and sequencing of MEP activities.

2. Execution & Supervision

- Oversee installation of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and standards.
- Monitor daily site progress and resolve technical issues.

3. Team & Contractor Management

- Lead site engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
- Manage subcontractors and vendors efficiently.
- Allocate work and monitor performance.

4. Quality Control & Safety

- Conduct inspections and ensure quality compliance.
- Implement QA/QC procedures for MEP works.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations.

Testing & Commissioning

- Plan and supervise testing & commissioning of all MEP systems.
- Ensure systems are functioning as per design requirements.

6. Billing & Cost Control

- Verify quantities and contractor bills.
- Monitor material usage and control wastage.
- Assist in cost estimation and budgeting.

7. Documentation & Reporting

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
- Maintain records of site activities and approvals.
- Attend client/consultant meetings and provide updates.

Skills & Competencies:

- Solid technical knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing & Fire Fighting systems.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Knowledge of IS Codes, NBC guidelines.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Project (preferred).

Qualification:

- B.E / B.Tech or Electrical Engineering.

Experience:

- 5 to 12 years of relevant experience in construction projects.
