Purpose/Objective

To support the Mines Manager in the protected, efficient, and statutory operation of the mine by supervising day-to-day mining activities, ensuring compliance with DGMS regulations, and achieving production and development targets.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Key Responsibilities: Mining Operations: Supervise daily mining activities including drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, and transportation.
Ensure production targets are achieved as per the approved mine plan.
Monitor ore quality and minimize dilution and losses.
Optimize utilization of mining equipment and manpower.
Safety Management: Ensure compliance with the Mines Act, Metalliferous Mines Regulations (MMR), DGMS guidelines, and company safety standards.
Conduct workplace inspections, safety audits, and toolbox talks.
Identify hazards and implement risk mitigation measures.
Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
Mine Planning & Development Execute mining operations according to approved mine plans.
Monitor mine development, bench formation, haul roads, and pit progression.
Coordinate with geology and survey teams for ore extraction and reserve management.
Ensure maximum recovery of mineral resources.
Statutory Compliance Maintain statutory records, registers, and reports.
Assist during DGMS inspections and audits.




Ensure all mining activities are carried out within approved statutory limits.
Support compliance with environmental and mining lease conditions.
Manpower Management Supervise Mining Engineers, Foremen, Supervisors, and Operators.
Ensure proper deployment of manpower.
Conduct on-the-job training and safety awareness programs.
Promote discipline and productivity at the workplace.
Equipment Management Monitor availability and utilization of HEMM and mining equipment.
Coordinate with maintenance teams for planned and breakdown maintenance.
Minimize equipment downtime and improve operational efficiency.
Reporting & Coordination Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Track production, development, safety, and equipment performance.
Coordinate with internal departments for smooth mine operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification Diploma / B.
E.
/ B.
Tech in Mining Engineering.
Mandatory Certification Second Class Manager's Certificate of Competency (Metal Mines) issued by DGMS.
Experience: 4+ years of experience is required.
