Role & responsibilities

A General Physician is responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. They provide primary healthcare services, perform clinical assessments, prescribe treatments, promote preventive healthcare, and refer patients to specialists when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct OPD and IPD consultations.
- Diagnose and treat common illnesses, infections, and chronic diseases.
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and review medical histories.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide preventive healthcare, vaccinations, and lifestyle counseling.
- Manage medical emergencies and stabilize patients when required.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.




- Refer patients to specialists for advanced care when needed.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation.
- Educate patients and families regarding disease prevention and health management.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and ethical standards.
