Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle ABAP development including RICEF objects, ABAP Objects, CDS views, AMDP, OData services, workflows, and custom enhancements.
- Develop high-quality ABAP code following SAP best practices, performance tuning techniques, and modular design principles.
- Build, optimize, and monitor SAP CPI iFlows for system-to-system integrations using HTTPS, SFTP, APIs, IDocs, SOAP/REST services, and event-driven patterns.
- Design and manage API-based integrations using SAP CPI, API Management (APIM), and BTP services.
- Create reusable integration components, adapters, mappings, and exception-handling frameworks.
- Work closely with functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical designs and technical specifications.
- Perform code reviews, ensure adherence to SAP clean code standards, and maintain repository discipline (Git-enabled ABAP, gCTS preferred).
- Troubleshoot CPI errors using message monitors, trace tools, and runtime logs; drive root-cause analysis.
- Ensure consistent documentation across technical specs, test scripts, integration architecture diagrams, and deployment guidelines.
- Support system migrations, upgrades, cutovers, and post-go-live activities with technical expertise
Required Skills & Experience:
- 8+ years of deep, hands-on SAP ABAP experience with complex coding in RICEF, enhancements, BADIs, BAPIs, IDocs, proxies, and interface development.
- Strong command over ABAP performance optimization, SQL traces, dumps analysis, memory management, and scalable coding techniques.
- Expertise in SAP CPI iFlow creation, routing, mapping (XSLT/JSON/XML), transformations, validators, adapters, message and error-handling frameworks.
- Strong experience with REST/SOAP APIs, OAuth2 authentication, API tokens, event mesh, and secure integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience with SAP BTP Integration Suite, API Management, and cloud connectivity.
- Positive exposure to S/4HANA concepts including CDS views, RAP (ABAP RESTful Programming Model), and modern ABAP syntax.
- Ability to interpret and design technical specifications (FSD/TSD) and deep knowledge of SAP tables and data models across modules.
- Excellent debugging and analytical skills across ABAP and CPI landscapes.
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
Certifications (Good to have)
- SAP Certified Development Associate ABAP / ABAP for HANA
- SAP Integration Suite or CPI Certification
