Job Summary

The General Manager Operations will lead and oversee all corporate support functions, ensuring seamless coordination across departments to strengthen governance, commercial discipline, and organizational efficiency. The role is responsible for protecting the Company's contractual and financial interests while enabling the successful execution of infrastructure projects through effective planning, reporting, and operational control. Working closely with the Managing Director, the incumbent will integrate key business functions, drive cross-functional collaboration, enhance operational performance, and ensure every department contributes effectively towards achieving the Company's strategic objectives and sustainable business growth.

Role & responsibilities

1. Corporate Leadership

- Lead all office functions.
- Drive coordination across departments.
- Conduct management reviews.
- Implement MD decisions.

2. Commercial Management

- Oversee billing.
- Review quantity verification.
- Monitor variations.
- Review commercial risks.

3. Contract Management

- Review contractual obligations.
- Ensure timely correspondence.
- Monitor claims.
- Protect contractual rights.

4. Planning & Monitoring

- Review project schedules.
- Monitor milestones.
- Track project health.
- Coordinate recovery planning.

5. Procurement

- Review procurement strategy.
- Ensure timely procurement.
- Monitor vendor performance.
- Resolve procurement issues.

6. Finance Coordination

- Coordinate billing and collections.
- Monitor project cash flow.
- Review commercial performance.

7. Human Resources

- Review manpower planning.
- Improve organizational capability.




- Drive performance management.

8. Administration

- Improve office systems.
- Monitor statutory compliance.
- Strengthen internal controls.

9. Management Reporting

- Develop dashboards.
- Present business reviews.
- Track departmental KPIs.
- Escalate major business risks.

Authority

- Lead and direct all corporate support departments to ensure seamless business operations.
- Conduct periodic management review meetings and drive strategic decision-making.
- Review departmental performance, monitor KPIs, and ensure accountability across functions.
- Approve operational processes, workflows, and business improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate with clients and key stakeholders on commercial and contractual matters.
- Recommend and implement organizational improvements to enhance operational efficiency, governance, and business performance.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Mandatory); MBA/PGDM in Operations, Project Management, or Business Administration will be preferred.
- 20+ years of experience in the Civil Construction & Infrastructure industry, with proven leadership in corporate operations.
- Demonstrated experience in leading Commercial, Contracts, Billing, Planning & Monitoring, Procurement, MIS, HR, and Administration functions.
- Sound knowledge of contract management, commercial controls, project planning, billing, procurement, statutory compliance, and corporate governance.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, MIS reporting, dashboards, Microsoft Office, and project monitoring tools.
- Solid analytical, strategic planning, communication, and people management skills with the ability to work closely with senior leadership and the Managing Director to achieve organizational objectives.
